Synopsis

    Uthuru Sulanga unfolds an unknown side of life of a person who seeks shelter in a then boarder village situated in the dry zone of Sri Lanka. The village welcomes a new day burring the memories of the staggering Northern war in the past. Although whereabouts of this person remain unknown and suspicious to many in the village, to 'Ralahami mama' the chieftain of the village who harbours him, he is kin. He calls him 'Sunimal' and does not bother about his past but present.

    Sunimal (Eranga Jeevantha) receives a small plot of land from the government confirming his status in the boarder village, which only awakened the dark memories of the war that he never wanted to rekindle. With his keen regard for 'Ralahami mama' (Sriyantha Mendis) he ultimately finds a home in his family.

    Ralahami mamais a humble paddy grower who wants his subservient son to takeover his business after him and his charming witty daughter Yasho to become a woman more than a house wife. Sunimal becomes a part of the family and he slowly turns down the fascination that Yasho shows towards him. Yasho's mother understanding the temptation in the environment keeps a close eye on her daughter.

    Sunimal enters his second battle of life, trying to keep himself from succumbing to his feelings towards Yasho who is very young and delicate. When he loses his battle, the dark shadows of an unforeseen future surrounds him....again. Yet he has to discover himself, his family and his future
