It is episode 3 and I am impressed with just how many different plot strands Resident Alien has to keep it from being one note.
Harry has so much going on, I wonder how he will have time to fit in being the town's resident doctor.
It does not rain on him, it pours. Harry needs to find the remains of his ship so he can destroy all human life. He needs to find the body of the real Harry that he threw in the lake.
The sheriff is dredging the lake as he thinks there is a serial killer in town.
There are some nice scenes such as the alien riding a horse with a cowboy hat.
I did think Harry should had used Google to figure out how to dispose of a body. It is no good in a freezer. Maybe he should had got rid of it, Fargo style. In a woodchipper.

Sadly, just 3 episodes in, the show already begins to drag, a sure sign that they do not have enough plot to fill the required number of episodes. So they do what every other show with similar problem does - they bury tiny morsels of plot in the huge pile of nothing, which they then try to falsely label as "character development", when in reality it is just filler. Two women standing by the fire waiting for the dead body, then reminiscing by the fire, then dancing by the fire, then going to the party, then reminiscing at the party, then dancing at the party... Is the description boring you? Then you shouldn't watch the episode by any means, because it is much worse.
There are still a few funny jokes, but less than in episode 2, which in turn had less jokes than episode 1.
The alien's stupidity is growing exponentially and you have to wonder how "a scientist" from a race that has mastered space travel can be so dumb. Perhaps they, too, have developed AI, offloaded all the thinking to it and became progressively dumber and dumber, while still having superior technology? This show, unfortunately, has zero logic, which is a shame. It would be so much better if there was a bit of intelligence to go with the jokes.
Speaking of logic, how did the alien's ship crash land in Colorado mountains, and he managed to end up in New Mexico desert? Just because they needed a "funny" scene of him wearing a cowboy hat? Lame.
The alien's interaction with the kid deserve a special mention for inducing cringe. It is like a particularly lame version of discount Home alone with aliens. And the kid went from terrified to Rambo in a blink of an eye for no apparent reason.
The supporting cast continues to be terrible. The sheriff is straining so much to be funny with pathetic results. The nurse and the horny bartender didn't get any better from episode 1, and they were awful in it. The nurse's convoluted backstory is a half baked attempt to get to viewers' emotions, yet the only emotion it manages to evoke is boredom. The nurse's father is wooden and confused, spurting his lines like a first generation of text to speech program.
The episode ends with one of the morsels of plot, which is again a typical move for shows that are mostly filler - end an episode with an important or plot moving event, in hope that it will stick out in the viewers' minds because it is the last thing they see in the episode and that it will make up for the time they wasted up to it. But it never does.

U can't just put some sentences about Islam without research
Try to really read about Islam and don't repeat what others say

Interesting new people added at the end of the episode. Learned new and interesting information tonight. Laughs and funny scenes and Alan Tudyk perfect as always. Can't wait for next week.
First 2 episodes were great, 3rd episode slips into an average character development piece.
When the show steps away from the alien, its cracks show as the other characters, apart from the cops, are not that interesting.
