The long wait for Severance Season 2 ended at the end of January, and six episodes of the ten-episode season have arrived on Apple TV+ thus far.

The core four Macro Data Refinement team reunited in the first episode, and they are back to their shenanigans and investigations of the severed basement floor of their Lumon Industries campus. Many needle drops this season happen in scenes that involve motion, whether it be running through the endless white hallways as innies or driving cars in the outie world.

Theodore Shapiro is the series composer of that haunting piano theme that accompanies the animated opening credits of the show. Various tunes glorify Kier Eagan, the founder of Lumon, and the “Defiant Jazz” tune from last season’s pizza party cannot be forgotten. Production has started in Wales on director Jamie Adams’ latest movie, “Let’s Love.” The film brings together a talented ensemble, including Martin Freeman from “The Responder,” Josh Hutcherson from “The Hunger Games,” Malin Akerman from “Watchmen,” and Jess Weixler from “Monsters.”

The relationship-focused comedy follows four movie industry professionals who reunite in Wales. They believe they are attending a fan event celebrating the 10th anniversary of their previous successful collaboration. However, the group discovers their studio contact scheduled them for the wrong month. This unexpected change gives them a chance to develop a new pitch for a sequel to their original film.

The story centers around screenwriter Nigel, played by Freeman, director Andrea portrayed by Akerman, Andrea’s actor husband Jackson played by Hutcherson, and Weixler as Jackson’s former co-star Jess. Martin Freeman (The Responder), Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games) Malin Akerman (Watchmen), Jess Weixler (Monsters), Craig Roberts (Submarine) have been confirmed in the cast of Jamie Adams’ Let’s Love as shooting is underway in Wales.

Written by Adams, with contributions from the cast, the improvised comedy is filming across Cardiff, the Brecon Beacons, Porthcrawl and at Dragon Studios in Bridgend. Postproduction be completed by early 2025.

The relationship comedy is produced by Bristol-based Happy Hour Productions and Manchester-based Boudica Entertainment in association with Principal Film Finance. Further cast members include Chloe Jouannet and Richard Elis.

Freeman co-stars as screenwriter Nigel alongside Akerman as film director Andrea, Hutcherson as her lead actor husband Jackson and Weixler as his on-screen romantic lead Jess. The quartet reunite in Wales for a 10-year anniversary fan convention of their last hit film, only to discover the hapless studio rep has booked the wrong month.

Filming has wrapped on the latest comedy feature from UK writer-director Jamie Adams, which has a working title of Or Something Like It, and stars UK comedian Julia Davis and Screen Star of Tomorrow 2022, Harry Trevaldwyn.

It is set in a sleepy coastal town in south Wales, and follows an arthouse filmmaker’s trials and tribulations as she attempts to give a masterclass. Davis plays the filmmaker, while Trevaldwyn stars as the event organiser she collides with.

There must be something about Jamie Adams, as his stars so often return back for more, with several repeat collaborators across his relatively short, and yet strikingly prolific career to date. Two of which are Tara Lee and Dolly Wells, who stars in Love Spreads, and we had the pleasure of speaking to the talented duo on Zoom.

The pair discuss what it is about this Welsh filmmaker that lures them back in, and they also talk about the improvisational style he encourages, and how they approach material of that nature. They discuss writing songs, creative pressure from above, and having writer’s block. Plus, on a side note, we get to meet Wells’ lovely dog.

But “Love Spreads” is about early success, the success that sets a band up for album number two, and all the pressure that comes from outputting a hit record and being expected to make another; characters act monstrously toward one another, yes, but the film is not a character study.

Haley Bennett, Sam Riley and Marisa Abela are starring in “She Is Love,” a new romance from Jamie Adams. The film is made in an improvisational style, one that Adams deployed on previous pictures such as “Black Mountain Poets” and “Love Spreads.” It wrapped principal photography this week in Cornwall, U.K., but had never been formally announced.

Here’s the logline: “Coming face-to-face after being estranged for over a decade, divorced couple, Idris and Patricia, opt to revisit the past and traverse that treacherous path together, emerging open to new beginnings.”
