Another Amazing Series of Best Detective Series Ever!

Yes, alas this is the last year of Bosch, and they put us on a bit of a diet with only 8 instead of the usual 10 episodes. Still, three episodes in this is in every respect another fascinating series in the true Bosch tradition. Money Chandler is featured prominently in a parallel story, probably a great way to connect to the upcoming original Bosch spin-off where Harry works as her investigator.

    Mostly good opening episode

This is a good start to the season that lays the early foundations for the plot.

The central crime story feels like another classic "everybody counts" situation that will likely have me cheering Harry on to get justice for the victims. It includes more disturbing and atmospheric crime scene aftermaths that the Bosch filmmakers do so effectively.

Also effective is the contrasting New Year moments that various characters are having. It cuts between some in comfortable settings, either partying and relaxing, to those in different circumstances before the various worlds collide when the crime happens.

The only moment that felt implausible came after Mr and Mrs Chief Irving were in a quite distressing situation in one scene, then later were seemingly chilling out together at home discussing other matters. From the perspective of a father who has gone through similar issues, it appears like either inconsistent writing or that the baby is fairly low on their list of priorities.

    Disappointing season opener

I love this show and have been looking forward to this new season. However, after watching this episode, I can only hope the drama picks up the pace. Jerry's character seems lacking in honesty right now to me, and the storyline itself feels contrived. But it's only one episode, so I hold out much hope for better as the season progresses.

    Excellent Tip Off

We have all the usual good stuff here. J. Edgar is still reeling from the shooting in Season 6. He is moping around, drinking too much. There is the u wsual political stuff going on with the Mayor and the Chief. Then there is the crime. A Molotov cocktail is thrown through a window. The results are the deaths of three people, including a little girl who gets caught in a smoky hallway. Enter those developing housing where the neighborhood is filled with minorities. Bosch begins his usual campaign to find out who is responsible for the death of the little girl.

A Smooth Start To The Final Season.....

Can't believe that they say this will be the last season. I've put off watching because I don't even want it to end.

So Season 7 starts off with a BANG, and a FIRE!.

Setting the stage.... the 1st episode basically just lays the groundwork and is nothing to really brag about

Good going to Jerry to tell Harry where he can stuff his superior attitude tho. I liked that. 7/10.
