One thing I have noticed that irks me about LMSYV is the guest judges, the lame judgement of supposed stars of singing! The nature of this show is trickery ~ of perhaps a mum of 4 who bakes CBD brownies for Snoop, getting a chance to act a fool, let loose, pursue another career, hobby, singer or not! Picking on genres like the "queen of goth" & "little more gothic than I was judging her earlier" or "what goth has blonde hair?" "She even draws like a hippy" another GENIUS statement from Jeff Dye. The generalizations, would Jeff Die, oops, Dye, say that about a black singer, entertainer, someone male? BS! Stop letting idiot guest judges be so bold, so mouthy when they are so mentally blocked themselves...
If you're a fan of music & game shows in general, then you'll most likely enjoy it. However it's hard to get past the major flaw in the gameplay of this show (US version only). The Asian versions of this show don't have this issue.
The weird thing about the US version of this show is how they added the cash prizes.. Because the way this game is played, your cash prize before round 6 is pretty much predetermined by the actual number of good/bad singers. It's basically impossible to win all 5 of the first 5 rounds unless there is only 1 good singer out of the 6. So really, the only strategy in this game is to make sure the very last singer is good so you can win the $100k.
But if you can get past this and just enjoy the music & humor of the show, then it's quite entertaining.

It is entertaining, they have a good mix of contestants that cover all areas of the diversity spectrum.
Dr Ken is a decent and funny host.
Some of the guest judges are boring, when Dr Ken buddy Joel is on it's much more humorous. I still don't understand what Cheryl Hines adds to the show. Is she the money behind it and just wants to put herself in?
The golden Mic is kind of corny.
Overall it's and entertaining guessing game. If you're a fan of mysteries it's kind of fun to test your detective skills and see how often you're wrong.

What a great show! Dr Ken is an awesome host who is just naturally funny. You wait with baited breath in each round. It's tense, it's very funny all round and super exciting. Even the celebrity panel who change each week are great. The songs are amazing. All popular songs and each singer whether they can sing or not, are very convincing. I absolutely love this show! I have started at season one and already watched 5 episodes and each one seems to be better than the next. I'm literally on the edge of my seat each round. What a clever concept. People compare this to the masked singer. I hated the masked singer and cannot sit through it. But this is just awesome!
Oh man...I'm a big fan of the Korean version and had high hopes for this one, but am disappointed. I think the FOX producers were running low on content due to the whole COVID situation and just wanted to pump out some content to keep the network afloat without giving much thought to the overall quality. I mean, even the end credits say that "some of the audience visuals were borrowed from other TV show tapings." This leads to the bigger point, which is the overall feel of artificiality. The original Korean version packs authenticity and an emotional punch by diving deeper into the stories of the singers and actually highlights them rather than making them mere accessories to a Las Vegas, it's all about the money, style singing show (it says so much about our culture when almost every game show has a gambling like, get rich feel to it). Obviously, it helps too that in the Korean version, the audience is real and that any money made actually goes to the singer/faker as they're the ones putting in all the effort (if they're good at faking, they're gonna walk way with the prize money nowhere near the level of 100k though, while if they turn out to be good, they get to produce an actual song with the guest of the show - who is almost always a respected musician/producer/music group).
With all that being said, there is promise for this show as the singing participants are actually pretty good. I was blown away both by the faking skills and the actual singing quality of the secret singers. But, again, it's a shame that they are just used as mere props. Hopefully, the producers can take some of the lessons from the Korean version and actually apply them for the second season, or if it's not too late, for the remaining episodes of this season.
