I watched the original Meerkat Manor when it originally aired some years back. Never missed a single episode. And I was so super excited when I heard abt the continuation of the Whiskers story! I have not been disappointed at all! I absolutely love the series and all the little 'kats and their storylines! I really hope this series lasts at least as long as the previous one did, and maybe even longer! WELL DONE BBCA!

I have fallen in love with meerkats. This documentary series really gives an intimate view of these fascinating animals. I've been trying to sort out why we all love them so much. I think it's because we can see ourselves in them. So many different personalities and emotions that we can relate. It's a half hour where I can forget my life and just get caught up in drama of Meerkat Manor. I hope this show lives on and on! More please!!
Meerkat Manor is one of my favorite shows of all time. I am so happy BBC has decided to continue the saga of the Whiskers. I really hope this show does not get cancelled. There is just something about the Meerkats that make them so incredibly endearing. I noticed that sayajenn said it is because "we can see ourselves" in these little creatures. I have to agree. The show is like a little meerkat soap opera. It is easy to relate to them because of their strong family ties. I look forward to watching this show every Saturday. I even went back and binged the first 4 seasons from 2005-2008. So good! Please do not ever cancel!
It's been a decade since I first watched all the series of this show. I learned so much about these adorable and resilient intelligent little creatures. My utmost respect to their social order and survival techniques. While I can't recount each season, I can tell you that I have never been so emotionally devastated watching any animal documentary before. Getting to know these meerkat clans, their babies, their losses... It was almost too much. There were times I found myself screaming at the production crew to intervene and help the poor creature. Like when a pup was separated from the pack, and couldn't find its way back, left to die helplessly in the desert. I know many claim people should not intervene on nature, yet we applaud such human interventions to save animals all the time. There are thousands of examples of animal rescues from around the world, where good people step in to help a wild animal in harms way. Why is this not the case when it's a "documentary". We rejoice when everyone pitches in to push a grounded whale back out into the safe depth of water. Why not sit back and watch the whale languish and die as to not intervene on nature? Because we know it is wrong to not help we we can. There were many situations where production could have easily saved these meerkats, but instead filmed their deaths for dramatic tragic storylines (under the guise of not interfering). That's why I removed 3 stars. Otherwise, this is a wonderful series that highlights how incredible meerkats are.
Since the original series aired in 2005, meerkats have become widely beloved. I love watching them endure the good and bad times; it's so amazing to just watch nature be nature. The narration is perfect! It's funny when it has room to be, serious when it needs to be, and I love the references to nature, especially the butterfly effect in episode 12. Hearing about each meerkat leader, their style and fighting spirit, it's so heart-warming to see these little warriors fight for survival. I also love they don't seem to have changed any names like they did in the original series, it makes it a lot easier to keep up with the show and real life from the FKMP site. I really want to see more! There is no shortage of support for these animals and this series featuring them!
