The Strokes: Bad Decisions

Not long ago I got time to appreciate this video of one of the coolest songs of 2020's and a nice welcome back to The Strokes. It was perfect since not only they sound as in their early times but they manage to go beyond that both musically and in imagery with this clip for "Bad Decisions" which pays tribute to 1970's style of TV commercials. The idea here is to present a popular band (themselves) as being sold in cover models that buyers can have fun in their own home. Dial the phone and get your Strokes models, and you can even design their looks and hair-style. The brilliance of modern times and technology but with those there'll always be some technical issues.

The song was good and catchy - not sure why many poor reviews to the album - and the video manage to bring a fun combination to it with its thoughtful elements. Gotta have some humor in some pessimistic times where all you see is a frigthening repetition of bad decisions, here examplified by faulty technology though in life and this year it can go to all possible aspects. Yet I had a great time with this video, it was funny, beautifully composed with the 1970's concept and filmed in similar fashion that one can actually believe such commercial existed back in the day. See it, you won't regret it. 10/10
