Google's Street View car happened to drive by the main location in Ulvilantie 27, Helsinki in July 2021. You could spot filming gear from multiple 360 pictures. The red Toyota Hiace used in the series could also be seen parked at Ulvilantie 25. One 360 shot even showed a clear straight view of 11 crew members shooting a scene next to Olavi's Volkswagen Beetle.
The shelter for garbage was built to hide a swing set that was too modern for the era.
The series had two composers Juho Taavitsainen and Martti Tervo. According to the series director Jani Volanen, he needed both of them because the schedule was so tight for a ten-hour soundscape. He told that they still composed with an unreasonable pace following the director's Vangelis type of temp tracks.
The Rubik's Cube scene is based on a real event. The writer-director arranged a similar stunt in his childhood, but it went awry the same way it happened in the series.
The writer-director Jani Volanen has said that each character contains some piece of him, but he most identifies with the character of Kaius as a child with a key necklace.
