Very cheesy with occasional moments of genuine tension but there ends up being so many moments where you end up saying to yourself "really ?" . Disappointing.
If this was a Monty Python sketch the end of season 2, episode 2 would be the point when someone would run onto the set and say 'Stop that, it's silly!'.
If I were an 11 year old schoolboy I would enjoy this, unfortunately I haven't been an 11 year old for many years. If you like explosions this is the show for you, if you are looking for anything interesting between the explosions avoid. The actors give strange performances, perhaps they know what they are saying is rubbish. None of the weaknesses of season one have been fixed.
It's sad and worrying that ITV thinks this one of their flagship shows. We have been through a golden age for TV but for free to air viewers this show is proof that it's over.

A six part, explosive series, Jed Mecurio, Vicky McClure, this should, on paper, be brilliant......
For such a pedigree, this series was sadly, a real disappointment. If you're anything like me, you'll see the name Jed Mecurio, and get pretty excited, sadly this one just didn't land. It's not all bad, but sadly it's a real disappointment.
On the plus side, it looks nice, it's incredibly well filmed, it's slick, and the action scenes and explosives are impressive, Vicky McClure is excellent, and in fairness the first episode is rather good.
Unfortunately, it just runs out of steam very quickly, the tension feels forced, the plot is wafer thin, the eventual outcome just doesn't work. The characters lack any degree of depth, Lana apart, it's so hard to warm to any of them. Some of the acting is a little patchy in parts.
If you're desperate to watch it, you could quite easily watch parts one and six, as virtually nothing happens in the rest of it.
It was a ratings winner, and it was obvious that series two would follow, hopefully they do it a little better when it returns. 6/10.

I do not understand all the negative comments here. Maybe if you work for a bomb squad this is not realistic but I thought right from the very first episode, this was great action tv. I did suspect who the person was but then, you are not sure. Great actors, real fast pace drama. Loved it.
The same bugbear as usual unfortunately - an enormous amount of money spent on this series, but you still cannot hear all the dialogue, people mutter without moving their lips. Very frustrating to anyone with even a slight hearing impairment. This can easily be fixed, but tv production companies seem to be unable to understand how to record spoken sound properly. I watched a 1950s film on tv earlier and could every word clear as a bell. Just fix it!
