Exclusive/Film Bazaar: Director Rohena Gera makes fictional feature debut.

Following its return to film production with A Death In The Gunj, Studioz IDrream is set to produce Mumbai-set drama Sir, written and directed by Rohena Gera.

The film, which marks Gera’s narrative feature debut, revolves around the relationships between the middle class and their domestic helpers in Mumbai society. “The story tackles Indian taboos but I want it to be understood outside of India,” said Gera.

A successful scriptwriter with credits including Kuch Naa Kaho and Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, Gera made her directing debut in 2013 with documentary What’s Love Got To Do With It?

Studioz IDrream CEO Ashish Bhatnagar said he wanted to produce the film because “our company aims to tell Indian stories that can resonate globally”.

Bhatnagar and Gera are currently in talks with a potential French co-producer.

Rakesh Mehra (Qissa, Sunrise) is also on board the film as line producer...

Ameesha Patel is known for hosting some amazing parties in Bollywood and is said to be very knowledgeable about different world cuisines. So much so, Ameesha also has knowledge about the different kinds of wine and cheese and is well versed with their pairing.

A source close to the actress said that Ameesha spent her holidays with her maternal family in France. So while she was there, she decided to use her time by learning about fine dining and that is when she learned about different cuisines and the right kind of wine paired with the right cheese and more. So her friends from the industry turn to her for help when they are hosting their parties.

Ameesha was last seen in Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic (2008) in a guest appearance and was appreciated for her sensuous moves in the song Lazy Lamhe. She is going to be seen next in Race 2.

The 37-year-old actress was last seen on the silver screen in the UK in Yash Raj Films’ Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic in 2008. In Abbas-Mustan’s Race 2, Patel plays the role of Cherry, a glamorous assistant to Anil Kapoor’s character Rd.

Race 2 is slated to release across UK cinemas on 25th January 2012 through Utv Motion Pictures.

August 25, 2010: The renowned music label T-Series has obtained the audio rights of Kunal Kohli directed next movie, which will star Saif Ali Khan. This is the third movie, where Saif and Kunal are working together. Earlier, they worked in the movies Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic and Hum Tum.

Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd is producing the movie. The acquisition is part of a five-film music deal, which was signed between T-Series and Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd early this year.

In a statement, Vinod Bhanushali, T-Series president (Marketing Media) was quoted saying that they have association with Ashtavinayak.

Kunal Kohli locked his script last Saturday and flew off to London to run it through Saif Ali Khan. Producer - director Kunal Kohli is busy planning his next directorial venture, which will be a romantic film with Saif Ali Khan in the lead. It may be recalled that Kohli has directed Khan in Hum Tum and Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic prior to this. Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, Kohli said, "Yes I am planning a film with Saif and it's going to be a romantic film. It'll be a young film, which will redefine the metrosexual look. It's still too early to say more about the film because I haven't yet locked the heroine and there are a lot of other things I need to finalize. ...

Kunal Kohli and Saif Ali Khan, who gave the hit film ‘Hum Tum’, are planning to come together for another romantic saga that will redfine the metrosexual look.

Apart from ‘Hum Tum’, Kohli also worked with Saif in ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’.

Kunal Kohli may be busy handling the production of Imran - Deepika starrer Break Ke Baad (directed by debutant Danish Aslam), but that hasn't stopped the talented filmmaker from announcing his plans for his next directorial venture.
