I take on board that the slot of prime time BBC1 on a Thursday evening is not wholly deserved for this. It's a nice show. Sheridan does not come over as the most natural presenter but it's all about the dogs. I've only had short haired dogs so the invasion of the dog groomers on to our high streets has been a bit baffling. Still not totally sure why my village needs 3, but now I have a greater understanding of the number of breads that need grooming.

Come on BBC, deep down you know this is rubbish.
Even ITV would bury this away on ITV2 late in the day.
It just doesn't warrant prime-time viewing, even in these troubled times where we all appreciate that the stock cupboard of new material to show is a little empty.
You've seen a format that worked in another country, it was a panic buy, and like many a panic buy, it's a bit rubbish.
There's no shame in it, just don't do it again.

Prime time viewing, 8 til 9 pm, and we're made to suffer this. With the talent out there, and ideas, this is the best they can come up with?
Is this the kind of show to expect in 2021, is this what the TV license is going on?
Dismal, awful, unwatchable dross, if you managed to get all the way through, good on you. I wish I'd done something more interesting, like count the rice crispies in the box.
What a shame to see lovely Sheridan Smith doing something like this, she is such a lovely, talented actress, what a waste.
The best groomed here, the judge!
Fortunately Death in Paradise out is up next.
Awful, 1/10.

Whilst reality TV is generally exploitative of people's desire to appear on TV even at the cost of their dignity, at least it is their own decision. This programme exploits animals in a degrading way and represents a new low in reality TV. If this is where the BBC is going, it is perhaps time for the BBC to look for alternative funding rather than using the license fee to produce this appalling exploitative rubbish.

I really object to my portion of the license fee being used to finance this drivel. Prime time TV? You must be joking.
I'm dogless for the first time in 30+ years, which is extra hard as shielding for a year, so I appreciated the show overall. I'm not a big fan of extreme grooming, so those bits didn't really interest me. However Sheridon & Stanley are goofy fun, which is much needed at the moment.

Can't believe this is on Prime time BBC1.
Dogs are beautiful creatures. If they needed pink hearts or olive trees painting on them they would have them . Shame on all concerned for what amounts to animal cruelty

A great show all about the dog grooming world, a competition to see who is the best, great host, fun judges and a brilliant Vet to give advice about your dog, great for a family evening in and a great change to all the current doom and gloom!

I couldn't even get through 10 minutes of this drivel without want to gouge out my eyes. I like Sheridan Smith, but a competition host she is definitely not! She should just stick to what she does best: Acting! The problem with the Beeb, in fact most of the traditional channels, is that they are desperately exploiting the reality competition sector and the onus is on desperate. This is on par with the extremely poor re-hash of The Generation Game. The beeb got burned badly when they lost the superior Great British Bake Off and seem to have lost the plot and the viewers as well. Maybe they'll get it right again...ONE DAY!
