    Scooby Doo meets the Flash

"One Minute Mysteries" is the third episode of 'Scooby Doo and Guess Who' to have a superhero as a guest star. The first being "The Scooby of a Thousand Faces" with Wonder Woman and the second being "What a Night for a Dark Knight" with Batman. Both being proof of Scooby Doo and the gang solving mysteries with superheroes being a good mix. Here the superhero is The Flash, not as well known as the other two but still a compelling character with a unique power.

The episode was very enjoyable on first watch. It is still very enjoyable now, actually like it a little more. "One Minute Mysteries" by all means is not one of the best 'Scooby Doo and Guess Who' episodes and may disappoint anybody who doesn't like half the gang being hardly in it. But the show did have quite a few episodes to have Scooby and Shaggy interacting with the guest star and solving the mysteries and relegate Fred, Velma and Daphne in smaller roles and did quite nicely, like "One Minute Mysteries" does.

It isn't perfect, with a very slight plot that takes a while to get going (which it does do when the villain is introduced). Fred, Velma and Daphne have very little to do in their very short screen time, which is mostly glimpses of them being in captivity.

Did find some of the later Flash action a little tiring when the episode became a little too reliant on it.

However, there is a lot to like about "One Minute Mysteries". Shaggy and Scooby are a sheer delight and their friendship has so much humour and heart. Loved their humorous and endearingly goofy chemistry with Flash, who is a larger than life presence without being too dominant. The humour is plenty and while not hilarious it is very amusing and well timed. The mystery is very slight, but the thick and fast energy and the atmosphere make up for it. The major highlight was the montage of the past villains.

Regarding the final solutions of the three superhero starring episodes of the show, the one here is the best, managing to be a complete surprise while also making sense without being too logical. The writing is funny and smart while most of the Flash action is visually imaginative and the speed is pretty awe inspiring. The villain manages to be both cute and menacing. The animation is colourful and atmospheric with rich background detail, while the music doesn't sound at odds or too much. The voice acting is spot on, particularly Matthew Lillard.

Concluding, liked it a lot. 8/10.
