Really appreciate the effort. Understand that it must have been hard for everyone. But on the whole, this was pretty 3.6.
This was the first attempt at the SNL at home format, this is one that's going in the SNL history books. and I honestly think most of it worked very well. It could have gone A LOT WORSE. Chloe Fineman was particularly good in this episode, with her sketch being very similar to the stuff she's been doing online for a long time. A lot of the cast adapted well with only a couple awkward and overdrawn bits. But overall I'm very happy with how it turned out. Kyle and Beck are always gonna be funny to me. There were some technical problems and jokes that didn't land without an audience but I'm very excited to see how they refine it over the coming weeks. Very impressed
The highlight for me, as always, was Weekend Update. Nice to see Che throw in a request for joke swap, hands-down, the most consistently funny bit they do. Everyone gives it their best, considering the severe limitations, and it mostly pays off, under the circumstances. I don't know if people watching this, years from now, will understand. Hopefully, this whole pandemic thing will be a faint memory, and they won't understand why this is why it is. And I'm okay with that. For now, thank you to the cast and crew of SNL. I enjoyed this, very much!
