Une manière de vivre

Very interesting cinematic proposition on a subject treated in a rather original way and which requires a degree of reflective thinking from the spectators, without however being a film which would be reserved for pure intellectuals. The references to Spinoza are very well balanced and relevant. The choice to film in very close-ups may seem strange at first, but serves the purpose of the film very well. Catherine Major's music is particularly beautiful. It is, however, a shame that the editing (or perhaps the screenplay) leaves room for some losses of continuity which lead certain scenes to emerge from relative nothingness.
