Unsellable Houses

They say that the average agent sells 7 or 8 homes a year. But they say "we sold 170!" Is that believable? No, it's not. It's very misleading to the point of being an outright lie. They compare the sales of a single agent to the entire sales of all the agents in their agency. Apples to oranges. Great self promotion but dishonest to say the least. I guess they think people don't stop and do the math to see if it's plausible. I only learned this by a Google search to reveal that they're talking about their entire agency.

You have to ask if they are that dishonest, then would you want to even watch their show? Nope, not me.

...somebody please halve the running time of this show so that I give it an eight rather than a four! This is a good example of a show that has an innovative idea and then dilutes the outcome with so much "stuff" that it becomes boring in parts. No one wants to see the kids learning to drive, or the family photos. We want to see how unsellable homes transform into homes that command multiple offers and higher than listed prices. Ladies- please- less IS more!

The basic premise for this show is good but these ladies just cannot pull it off. The renovations are suspect and the twins are trying to sell their "cuteness" but it comes of as very annoying. Plus the amount they talk, they must be getting paid by the word. I watched a few episodes but I don't bother anymore.

Overall I like the girls, mostly when they are quirky, and at their humorous best, but not at all when they are bossy and bullying. They seem to be poor listeners with employees, but nice to the clients. They definitely do help people who can't afford to do renovations to sell their dated houses, but I feel as if they may be gouging their clients:

1. Splitting profits is questionable at best. Would I split the profit on a home sale with my contractor after I already paid him for a renovation?

2. Already getting commissions for sale 3. Selling Lamb and Co merchandise for staging 4. HGTV episode payments 5. Likely getting a cut of renovation labor and materials fees A lot of this is justifiable, but as a whole seems to be taking advantage, especially number 1.

I don't like it.

I watch quite a few renovation shows and this isn't bad...but I would like it A LOT more if the two hosts/sisters would just cut down their dialogue by about 30 per cent. They never seem to stop talking and also tend to talk over each other a fair bit which can be extremely annoying.

The manufactured drama is kept to a minimum, thankfully and a lot of the show's dedicated to the actual transformation of the property.

Apart from that, the premise of the show and the renos are fine, although as with many renovation shows, they seem to want to fill every available nook and cranny with a nick-nack. Sometimes, less is more, including the dialogue.
