Lassegue's inspiration came from a girl she went to elementary school with, whom at age 18 experienced this and is no longer with us. In late 2019 she received a phone call from the girl's parents informing her of the tragic loss of their daughter and Lassegue asked for permission to create a film to inform people and honor their daughter, they agreed.
