Bad movie
The film was truly awful. The writing felt lazy and uninspired, with dialogue that never once rang true. The acting was equally painful to watch - flat, overdone in places, and completely lacking in chemistry. There wasn't a single moment that stood out as clever, moving, or even memorable; it was just another forgettable attempt at entertainment. The most baffling part is how they managed to convince Samuel L. Jackson to sign on. His presence raised my expectations, but even his talent couldn't rescue this mess. Instead, it left me wondering whether he owed someone a favor or just wanted an easy paycheck, because nothing in this movie was worthy of him.
I can't believe I didn't walk out
Im feeling the afterburn of regrets for seeing this movie. The entire theater outside of me and two women, left sometime before the hallway point. I'm honestly super jealous of them now. That was a hard movie to watch. I was feeling it at the beginning but that was short-lived lived. Do yourself a favor and skip this bull. I actually enjoy watching Dave Bautista, weirdly enough. I say weirdly, because the last few movies with him that I watched just absolutely sucked. The screen writing with the movies he is in, needs help. Do this actor some justice. Please!

interesting but loses its way
Afterburn is a post sort of apocolypse film. I would have liked atleast a flashback to show the solar flare and go from there but no we get straight into a monologue by butistas character who is a treasure hunter and gets sent to paris by samual l jackson to bring the mona lisa back. Half way through unfortunalty this film does lose its way and it becomes a little boring. Butistas not bad as a lead. His pretty good and the action is atleast decent enough to keep me watching but the plot is too thin.
Would have worked better as a mini-series
Lots of great ideas here, all half realized. The solar flare, the descent of society into barbarism, the rise of the warlords, all very interesting ideas that are just thrown away in the opening monologue. Which is a shame really as the backstory was far more interesting than what was filmed.
As others have mentioned, there are no twists and turns, it's all very straightforward and the film style even reminds me of the last film I saw Dave in..."In the Lost Lands" which had the same problem in that the background and backstory was far more interesting than what was made.
Shame really, as there are a lot of actors doing their best with what they had been given.
Better luck next time guys.

Average action movie
Pretty average action post apocalyptic movie, with well known actors, who did lazy job except Bautista and Samuel L. Jackson. Story is predictable, scrip it's also very poorly done, there's no character development. It's good to watch when your stoned Couse there's nothing important to remember or pay attention to, only the things happening with few action scenes.
Did you know
- TriviaNicolas Cage was in talks to join the project.
- GoofsThe movie's opening sequence shows lights going out across Europe, presumably as the electrical grid is taken down by the solar flare... but as it's on the night side, the Western hemisphere would be protected from the effects of the flare, which typically only last a few minutes.
