I truly love that celebrities want to "give back" to someone who means a great deal to them. But, the "Brothers" turn it into an opportunity to highlight themselves....blah, blah! Their desire to be actors is SO apparent while they constantly and consistently applaud themselves and their accomplishments. Guys, PLEASE stop the "it's all about us" dialogue ...it's old and boring!!!
I love Gwyneth paltrow and I buy her products and so she's the reason I watched.
I was almost embarrassed for her because they just kept repeating over and over how great she was and how wonderful she was and how it was wonderful that she came and helped and wasn't that so nice and she came and helped and isn't that great and she's helping and she's so wonderful lol
I felt like she was just being polite because it was really embarrassing and I thought I've learned nothing about decorating and I've just watched them tell a celebrity how wonderful they are.
The brothers are trying to make it seem like they do the work when they don't even have a fleck of dust in their hair. I just don't understand why they don't use a crew like every other show.
It does make you wonder why the celebrity would even agree to do it. I guess their agent makes them.

Its meant to show that celebrities are just humans and have souls. Good
Seriously a multi millionaire has them surprise a future mother-in-law, a brother, best friends etc. I don't bother watching those. I love the shows and I give them a 10+ rating that show heartfelt gifts for working class people that are connected with these celebrities, one way or another. Shows like Snoop Doggs, Halle Berry, and John C Reilly's are examples of such uplifting shows. I'd love to see these celebrities, help their makeup people, or drivers as in Terry crews one, even a great landscaper that works for them. Especially in these days when working classes are having a hard time. Hope you guys start thinking out of the box.
I'm not naive. I know that the show is basically scripted and the recipients of the makeover are aware of what's going on long before the celebrity and the Property Brothers show up at their doorstep.
Let's face it. No one's house is sparklingly clean all of the time. No dishes in the sink, mail on the counter etc. And not in just one of episodes but all of them.
I love the premise of the show and that the celebrities are doing something wonderful for someone they care about and they somewhat help out to make the transformation happen.
The show usually tries to have the recipient of the makeover show them what's not working for them and asks about what they would love in their new space and it mostly works if you buy into the myth that they were unaware that anything was going to be happening.
I recently watched an episode that I had recorded with Rob Lowe and I couldn't help but laugh out loud. All of the cabinets and drawers in the kitchen were emptied and nothing had been done to disguise it. Please, if you want to try to make me believe something, you have to try a little harder than that. (By the way though I did enjoy the episode though)
