    Genuinely Decent Film!

Fortunately I watched this movie before scanning through any of the reviews on here as some are way off the mark, even ridiculously so. Iv never left a review on here before, hopefully that's ok with some people on here lol. I was totally taken in by this film, maybe it just caught me at the right time. I enjoy these types of films anyway (low budget dramas) over the Hollywood blockbuster types of films, I was quite stunned to learn this film had no budget and was using non actors which is fairly remarkable considering what they put together. For what it is worth my suggestion would be to just give it a go and watch it!

Why do some people give away the endings of films?

I heard a lot about this film but I hadn't a chance to watch it until recently when it was shown on television.

All I am going to say is that, for me, it very much lived up to what I had been told by numerous people, people with film judgement I trust a lot. It was very, very impressive.

Obviously this film is built up for its ending to say the least, it is a shame some people on here feel the need to give that away, I guess its inevitable sadly. I'm sure it is still possible to get your point across without giving away the end. My advice would be to avoid any spoiler reviews prior to watching it for this reason.

Also interesting how some here really didn't like this movie but it left an impression on them enough to take the time out to write essay reviews on it, go figure? Ha. Some of which made no sense to the film I watched anyway.

    Impressive low budget British film.

Gritty, well researched, Great British Indie film

Mark's back story is gradually revealed. A somewhat dark journey but cleverly lifted with 'site banter'. Unlikely to be the ending you might expect.

    Great film

Attaching film but still with light-hearted humour Realistic to the everyday tradesmen and the struggles out there Love the film and would recommend to many.

Great Indie Film - artistic filming

I really appreciated the filming and direction of this film. The skylines and cinematic photography are very skilful.

    The soundtrack worked really well.

I thought the acting was really very good - well done Mark (Rory Farrelly) - it is very difficult to act alone with no one to talk to and just be in character. You really feel the loneliness and isolation that I felt he felt.

So although quite heavy in places there is an added small balance of humour in place to lighten the watching.

I thought that this was a very good independent low budget film that I found to be artistic visually and musically.

    • Trivia
      • Apart from one person the entire cast consists of non-actors.
      • The origins of 'Electrician' go back to a short film English filmmaker Steve Conway wrote/made in 2010. Also about an electrician.
      • Principle filming of Electrician finished in 2018.
      • The film has a completely original soundtrack created by musician Hannah Holland.
      • 'Electrician' the feature film took five years to make. Pre production started in 2015 with completion in 2020. To get shots done Steve would meet up with Rory Farrelly who plays the lead character 'Mark' either before or after a working day, at weekends or any other free time available.
      • Apart from a few projects Steve Conway stopped making any other films during the period of 2015 to 2020 to concentrate solely on making 'Electrician'. This is his debut feature film.
      • To earn an income during the period of making the film Steve worked with real electricians, assisting them on construction sites. This also helped with him knowing how to create authenticity of the film.
      • Four of the original cast from the short film go on to appear in 'Electrician' feature film.
      • The poster was designed and created by artist Dominic Hailstone.
      • 'Electrician' is a totally independently made film. No studio financing, grants or film funding bodies were involved.
