Pastry heir Lian Wending travels between 1940s and modern Singapore, facing clashes between tradition and modernity. Caught between loves of his era and the future, he must decide whether to change the course of history.

Set in the 1940s and then the modern world, this drama pits the traditional way against the modern. The story evolves around a popular traditional pastry shop called Xiji. Lian Wending (Shaun Chen), who is the only heir and has a gift in making pastries, is in love with a travelling songstress, Lin Xiaomei (Jesseca Liu). But his father objects to the relationship and arranges for Wending to marry a rich merchant's daughter, Sun Xiulan (Sora Ma). Bound by tradition, he accedes to his father's wish. On Mid-Autumn night, he falls into a well and loses his consciousness. When he wakes up, he is shocked to find himself in modern Singapore. He gets to know two brothers, who are his descendants. Xiji in the modern world is, unfortunately, facing a business crisis and Wending tries his best to save it. In the process, he meets his westernised rival, She Meiren, who looks exactly like Xiaomei but with a different personality. In the battle between modern and traditional ways, both of them fall in love with each other. When Wending discovers a way to return to his past, he has to make a decision that could change history.

Xi Ji is now a popular traditional bakery well-loved by its customers, after Lian Da Xi's (Hanwei Chen) grandfather, Lian Wen Ding, accidentally time-traveled to modern times to salvage the bakery's reputation. But Xi Ji is now met with yet another crisis, and in his haste to save the family business, Da Xi accidentally falls into a pool and unexpectedly time-traveled back to 1918. Back in time, Da Xi meets Chun Xian (Rebecca Lim) and encourages her to escape an arranged marriage, unaware that she is meant to marry his great-grandfather Xue Geng (Shaun Chen). The unsuccessful union threw the Lians into a financial crisis, and Da Xi unknowingly piqued Xue Geng and roommate Sai Ding's (Yaodong Zhang) interest in biscuit-making. The trio started Xi Ji. Da Xi tries to match-make Chun Xian and Xue Geng and returns to the future thinking he has settled all the problems. To his horror, he discovers his great-grandmother is not Chun Xian but Jue Hui (Paige Chua). Will another trip back in time turn the tide around or further jeopardise the future?
