Enjoying this new show. I love the couple and they have some interesting ideas. I like that they like to capture the character of the homes they work with.
Yes we know it's cool, but she's got to stop saying it over 20 times in one episode 😊
Any interest, skill, or design in home improvement shows is usually completely choked out by some combination of insufferable people, manifested unnecessary drama and scary aesthetics.
This show has skilled and likable hosts who have likable voices. I never knew that "likable voices" was a thing, but how many of these shows have women with shrill, screechy voices.... or men/women whose speech inflection is one where every statement sounds like a question?!?
These two are charming and the work they do doesn't suck.

Dave and Chase are awesome!! (Dave kind of looks like John Kransinki!) I laugh out loud at this show! Jenny, while well meaning, is super awkward and a bit weird and not the brightest bulb in the box. She ruins the show for me. Most of her decorating choices I find cringe worthy. Dave and Chase do an amazing job! I find their end results are very good from the craftsmanship perspective! I would definitely hire Dave and Chase to renovate my home. Overall, I wish them growth and success. (Yes, even Jenny) :)
I just found Fixer to Fabulous.
Where have I been?!
I watch 5 other shows on HGTV and of those 5, three do home reno's like this, and they are good, but it's the craftsmanship that Dave exhibits. They all have craftsmanship of some type, but Dave's just looks and feels different, is it better?, eh, probably not, he just speaks to me differently than the other shows. My father, a craftsman in his own right, brought me up watching This Old House back in the 70's so Dave's reno's remind me of Norm and his gang,...oh yea, his incredible workshop too.
Jenny, Dave's wife is so involved in their projects, and her input, vision and assistance so so compliments Dave. They are a great team.
I've put to the back burner one of the HGTV shows on my DVR, and can not get enough of Dave & Jenny. Fixer to Fabulous is set for every show that comes up, repeats and all.
Love it, love it, love it.

I really like Dave and Jenny because not only are we seeing what they do as their real life careers but also a glimpse into their lives with family and friends! They feel really genuine as a couple and as home renovators! You can tell they really try to make these renovations custom to the homeowners' tastes, which you can't say for every HGTV show. Yes, they are a little cheesy at times, but that's a draw for me! It's also neat that they only renovate in their hometown, which I'm sure makes it easier on them and their family. 16 episodes/renovations in a season would be a lot for anyone! The new season is really great so far and love that I can watch it on Discovery Plus! Would definitely recommend for a casual watch to anyone who's never seen it and likes home reno shows!
