Baby Fever

I'm not usually a fan of the genre, but this was a very effective, well scripted and well acted tale of a woman's descent into a private hell after a hellish end to her pregnancy.

It's full of ambiguity and keeps one wondering. Is she crazy or being driven into craziness?

Is the husband truly supportive, or is he trying to drive her more crazy? Is the band of smiling neighbourly women really trying to control her, or is she only imagining that they are?

My only quibbles were with the ending where, again, ambiguity reigns, and I felt a little unsatisfied. We don't know the outcome and are left to wonder what just happened, a bit like with Cronenberg films. That was probably intentional.

I will look for more from these talented co-directors.
