Ahead of the five-year anniversary of Glee cast member Naya Rivera’s death, her ex-husband Ryan Dorsey recounted her final days and raising their nine year old, in an interview with People.
“I’m here in L.A. working at Warner Bros., and Forest Lawn Cemetery [where she’s buried] is on the other side,” Dorsey, 41, told People. “So many songs make me think about her, like Amy Winehouse’s ‘Valerie,’ which she sang on Glee, and ‘Sunflower’ by [Post Malone and Swae Lee] because I always used to get her sunflowers on Sundays.”

Post Malone is driving into the comics world behind the wheel of an 18-wheeler.
The singer and songwriter behind hits “Sunflower” and “Circles” has teamed up with Vault Comics for Big Rig, a graphic novel described as Evil Dead meets Mad Max: Fury Road.
Platinum Dunes, the production banner run by Michael Bay and Brad Fuller, is also involved with the comic, and is working with Malone and Vault on developing a feature adaptation.
Based on an idea by Malone, Big Rig is written by the singer and Adrian Wassel, and is being drawn by Nathan Gooden, who previously illustrated Vault’s hit comic Barbaric. The comic will be published later this year, but in order to rev up interest, Vault will release the first chapter exclusively at local comic shops on Free Comic Book Day 2025.

The Golden Bachelorette's Chock Chapple recently revealed a bizarre habit that could drive Joan Vassos crazy. It wasn't long ago that Chock, a 60-year-old insurance executive and business owner from Kansas, traveled to Los Angeles, California, to date 61-year-old Joan. Chock already knew who Joan was as she made her television debut during the inaugural season of The Golden Bachelor. Though things didn't work out for her and 72-year-old Gerry Turner, she was soon announced as the spin-off's first female lead.
Joan met Chock on the opening night of The Golden Bachelorette season 1. He was one of 24 single Golden men who had come to Los Angeles to meet Joan. There were plenty of impressive widowers and divorcees among the bunch, but Chock stuck out to Joan right away. He got her first solo date and her last solo date. Since getting engaged, Joan and Chock appear to be happy together,...

Exclusive: With the end of 118-day actors strike at 12:01 a.m. Thursday morning, as well as a 148-day WGA strike back in September, global Hollywood feature productions can now resume.
And while studios warned the guild that movies wouldn’t be able to start until January due to the holidays, they’ve been in pre-production on re-starts for pics that had to pause back in July.
Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine
Deadline hears that those movies set to go back this week or in very near future are Marvel Studios/Disney’s Deadpool 3 starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman and directed by Shawn Levy (50% complete); Paramount’s Gladiator 2 over in Europe, Warner Bros’ Tim Burton directed Beetlejuice 2 (which only has two days left), Clint Eastwood’s Juror No. 2 (which has around a dozen days left) and Sony’s Venom 3.

Post Malone posted up at NPR’s office recently to play a delightful Tiny Desk Concert, just a couple of weeks after releasing his latest album Austin.
Posty began the set not with a new track, but with his smash hit “Sunflower.” Outfitted with a band comprising some lush background vocals, strings, piano, and more, the pop-rap crossover got a bit of a saccharine, bluegrass-inspired facelift. After the song wrapped, Post shared his gratitude to NPR for the invitation: “I’m super excited to come on this show, and super nervous — I’m not, actually, never mind,” he said with a heavy dose of sarcasm. “I’m not nervous at all.”
Despite admittedly struggling to give his best vocal performance — “I’m on tour, so my voice is balls right now,” he warned — the proud Dallas Cowboys fan next gave an impassioned rendition of his 2017 ballad “I Fall Apart.” He...

For his NPR Tiny Desk concert debut, Post Malone traced through the journey that led him to his recently released fifth studio album, Austin. Backed by a full band, an orchestra, and four backing vocalists, the musician strummed his guitar through a four-song set list that included “Sunflower,” “I Fall Apart,” “Circles,” and “Enough Is Enough.”
Posty has at least a handful of other songs that have also passed the one billion mark on streaming services — like the 21 Savage-assisted “Rockstar,” or “White Iverson” from his 2016 debut, Stoney. Then there’s also “Psycho,...

The Melbourne International Film Festival has unveiled the full lineup for its 2023 edition, with “Shayda,” by Iranian-Australian director Noora Niasari, set as the opening title.
The festival will run as a live event August 3-20, at venues around the city and its suburbs, and online Aug 18 – 27. The hybrid format was developed during the Covid pandemic and Miff found it useful as a tool to reach further away audiences and wider demographics than a strictly in-theater edition.
The ‘Bright Horizons’ competition section open to films by first- or second-time feature directors contains an 11-title mix of new and recently-debuted works.
As well as opening the festival, “Shayda” will play in competition. The competition’s other Australian-made title was announced as “The Rooster,” from actor turned writer-director Mark Leonard Winter.
International titles in competition include “Banel & Adama,” by Franco-Senegalese director Ramata-Toulaye Sy, which played in competition in Cannes; “How to Have Sex,...

Lil Nas X has become one of the leading pop stars of his generation, especially for his contributions to LGBTQ+ and Black music in the 21st century. His rise to fame started with “Old Town Road,” which quickly became a massive hit and set the record for the most weeks at number-one on the Billboard Hot 100. Such success often comes with awards recognition, so it’s not a surprise that the song was nominated for three Grammys, taking home two of those. Let’s take a look back at Nas’s journey to the Grammy stage.
While “Old Town Road” was a hit pretty much from the get-go — particularly its remix featuring Billy Ray Cyrus — a lot of hits get snubbed by the Grammys, so awards weren’t guaranteed. It also probably didn’t help that he was likely expected to be a one-hit wonder. Perceptions started to change when...

“In all my career, I’ve never felt a room like you,” said Warwick Thornton, the First Nations Australian director, after the screening of his film “The New Boy,” a story of spirituality and survival set in 1940s, that was the opening night title of the Sydney Film Festival. “The energy you give back to these children…,” he said before tailing off.
It was a churning, heartfelt moment that contrasted with Thornton’s bouncy earlier appearance on stage, when he joshed about having told the eight untrained school-age kids in his cast never to look directly at the camera while on set. And how he had to reverse that advice for when they, along with producer Kath Shelper, dominated the red carpet at Sydney’s grand State Theatre. Smile and wave for the paparazzi.
The film had premiered last month in competition at Cannes and was overlooked for major awards.

Vampire Weekend have released a vinyl-only live album called Frog on the Bass Drum Vol. 01, which pulls audio from a June 2019 show in Indianapolis where there was, in fact, a frog pictured on their bass drum.
The setlist from the show featured songs from all four albums of their discography — 2008’s self-titled debut, Contra, Modern Vampires of the City, and Father of the Bride — plus the official release of a 10-minute long cover of Bob Dylan’s Infidels track “Jokerman.” To boot, vocalist Ezra Koenig dropped a quick flow from “Pizza Party,” the debut track from L’Homme Run, the college rap group he formed with Vampire Weekend drummer Chris Tomson.
Frog on the Bass Drum Vol. 01 also comes with the band’s Quarterly Report newsletter. See the artwork and tracklist below.
