Colin Firth, Rebecca Hall, and Ben Barnes in Dorian Gray (2009)

Trivia

Dorian Gray

Edit
The original Dorian Gray has blond curly hair and blue eyes.
A famous line from The Importance of Being Earnest, also written by Oscar Wilde, is incorporated in the script, and spoken by Lord Henry Wotton: "The only way to behave to a woman is to make love to her if she is pretty, and to someone else if she is plain." In the play, which premiered several years after the publication of the novel this film is based on, the line is spoken by Algernon.
In Marvel's The Punisher (2017), episode Kandahar (2017), Billy Russo, played by Ben Barnes (who also plays Dorian Gray in this film), is seen reading the book 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' by Oscar Wilde. Both characters parallel each other, as both spend value in their good looks.
Director Oliver Parker has previously directed two other films based on works by Oscar Wilde: An Ideal Husband (1999) and The Importance of Being Earnest (2002). The latter of these also stars Colin Firth as one of the leads.
Unlike the movie poster, Dorian Gray does not have blue eyes but brown.
