The RIO BLANCO TONTINE is a unique western plotline where redemption becomes a bloody competition of life and death as the reality of the past is exposed in the lives of a diverse group of gunmen.

In 1890 a group of both famous and infamous western gunmen assemble in the southwest Texas ghost town of Rio Blanco on the invitation of a mysterious benefactor. Without their knowledge, they have been entered into a "tontine," a life insurance policy offering the beneficiary a hundred thousand dollars-- with two sinister stipulations. Only the last surviving member of those assembled may collect on the policy. The winner has just three days to eliminate his fellow tontine members or the offer is withdrawn. The town's last remaining inhabitants offer a tense and wary hospitality to their notorious guests at the President Lamar hotel and the Desert Rose saloon, supervised by a cynical and wily lawyer with dubious interests and his two deadly young bodyguards. The story focuses on the conflicting values and lethal competition between the tontine members.

Those gathered include a former U.S. marshal living with a private guilt, his closest friend who is a notorious killer, two former outlaws with a family score to settle with the marshal, a disgraced town sheriff, a cold blooded range assassin, and the once most deadly gunman on the western frontier. As the deadly competition plays out, two tontine members will be offered the redemption of a woman's love and others will face the truth of their violent lives. In the final accounting, only one will remain to face the final accounting with the mysterious benefactor of the Rio Blanco Tontine.
