Apple TV+’s critically acclaimed dystopian sci-fi thriller, Severance, finally returned with new episodes early in 2025 after a three-year hiatus. Season 2 of the series, which follows a group of employees at the mysterious Lumon Industries, garnered 27 Emmy nominations, including Britt Lower for her performance as Helly R./Helena Eagan.
In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter,Lower opened up about how she felt when she first learned she was cast in Severance, which currently boasts a 95% Rotten Tomatoes score. The first season debuted on Apple TV+ in 2022, and prior to that, Lower had appeared as a guest star in shows like American Horror Stories, High Maintenance, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and starred in the Fxx series Man Seeking Woman.
Securing the role of Helly in Severance was a big deal for Lower, who said she fell to her knees when she got the news she’d been cast.

On May 13, as Netflix broke ground to redevelop 292 acres in Central New Jersey for a massive $848 million new film and TV production facility with 12 soundstages, Fort Monmouth County commissioner director Thomas Arnone made an offer to co-ceo Ted Sarandos, who was on hand. “We will make this easy for you,” Arnone said.
That may well be the state’s promise to Hollywood producers. Even as California Gov. Gavin Newsom managed to get his legislature to double its cap on incentives from $330 million to $750 million annually, he conceded on July 2 at a press conference that the state had taken its eye off the ball for years. “We put our feet up, we took things for granted,” Newsom said.

One day in May 2023, stunt performer Devyn Labella showed up to the Utah set of Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2, the second part of the sprawling Western series from Kevin Costner, expecting to double for one of the film’s stars in some basic, fairly boring shots. Instead, she says, she was surprised by being subjected to an unscripted, brutal rape scene without proper notice, consent or the presence of a contractually mandated intimacy coordinator.
Now, Labella is suing Costner and the film’s production companies for sexual discrimination, harassment and the creation of a hostile work environment. Moreover, the complaint alleges Labella faced retaliation after she reported the incident by not being called back for subsequent work on the Horizon series and never being hired again by the film’s stunt coordinator, with whom she had worked previously.

As you start to look through the list of Ryan Murphy shows, you’ll find that there are way more than you initially thought. He’s the man behind Glee, Scream Queens, American Horror Story, and so much more. There’s simply no way that you can watch everything in a short space of time, and there are some shows just not as good as others.
How do you know if something is worth watching or skipping, though? After all, something can seem great from the premise, but then you get into two episodes and realize that it’s just not what was promised. The good news is I’ve watched the majority of his shows now, and I can tell you the ones that just don’t quite hit the mark. I have the four that you definitely want to watch, and the three that are just worth skipping.

The news follows Variety‘s October report that a new “9-1-1” spinoff was in the works.

Garry Marshall's sitcom "Happy Days" debuted on ABC in 1974, and it quickly became a fulcrum in popular culture. Marshall's show was set in the 1950s and served as nostalgia bait for white Boomers who were teens in post-war America. "Happy Days" starred Ron Howard as the innocent teen Richie Cunningham, and followed the wholesome adventures of him and his family. "Happy Days" didn't so much interrogate the 1950s as roll around in them. "Happy Days" spawned five spinoff shows and it ran for 11 seasons.
The standout character on "Happy Days" was, of course, Arthur "The Fonz" Fonzarelli (Henry Winkler), a gentle greaser, mechanic, and leather-wearing bad boy, who was Richie's best friend. The Fonz, however, wasn't so much a "bad boy" as too cool for the room. Everyone loved the character, and audiences couldn't wait to see him every week.

2024 was a crowded year for television that had its share of misfires, but among the droves of disposable content was some stellar horror programming – from “Evil” to “The Creep Tapes” – that celebrates the genre’s versatility.
Television has reached a curious inflection point where what was once heralded as the medium’s Golden Age has turned into a daunting obligation where there’s far too much content to consume and the lengthy gaps between short seasons is enough to strip away even the most extreme enthusiasm. TV is in an interesting phase at the moment and while many prestige streaming series have struggled, the horror genre has thrived and turned out deeply captivating and creepy material. Television remains a safe haven for the horror genre and 2024 was a strong year for both brand new horror and returning series that are sure to entertain genre fans who are looking for something...

The 2011 horror anthology series "American Horror Story," co-created by Brad Falchuk and TV juggernaut Ryan Murphy, is presented in a novel fashion. Each one of its 12 seasons stands as a wholly independent 10-to-13-episode miniseries, with each one featuring a unique set of characters and a new timeframe/location. Murphy and Falchuk select a traditionally Halloween-y horror topic or premise -- a haunted house, vampires, a witch coven, a circus sideshow, extraterrestrials, cultists -- and then spin it out in their own sensationalistic idiom. "American Horror Story" tends to be salacious and stylized, and its sheer variety have kept audiences coming back for years.
Note: "American Horror Story" is not to be confused with the 2021 series "American Horror Stories," which is actually a spinoff. "Stories" is a more traditional "Tales from the Crypt"-like anthology show, with each episode featuring an original story and its own unique cast of actors.

Ever since her movie Thelma premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, June Squibb has gotten a kick out of the response that’s been repeated over and over again this year.
“People have really made a big deal about the fact that it was my first leading role,” says the veteran actress, who turned 95 in November, of Josh Margolin’s senior citizen dramedy. “Everybody has laughingly said it over and over. People are impressed with that, and as much as anything else, they’re impressed by the fact that I’m still going.”
Still going is one way to put it. Squibb has been churning out the work in 2024 with roles in Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead, Velma, Inside Out 2, American Horror Stories and Lost & Found in Cleveland. There’s more to come in the new year.

There's been some fan-favorite shows to come out of 2024 on the many streamers and networks we've got, including Hulu and FX. But of course, there's also going to be ones that aren't as enjoyable and we feel like shouldn't have happened. It's normal with so many options and so many shows produced, there's going to be some bad apples, as they say. Here's 4 Hulu and FX shows from 2024 that didn't meet our expectations.
The Veil
While Elisabeth Moss has absolutely shined in The Handmaid's Tale over the years and also taken on some impressive roles, unfortunately The Veil on Hulu just wasn't entertaining for me. The actress herself was great as always. However when it comes to the story, no thank you. The show is marketed as a spy thriller and that's what the promotion focuses on. However, if you're going in thinking you're going to mostly see action and chases,...

“Cruel Intentions” is getting a new life in Prime Video’s TV series adaptation, which takes the twisted tale to collegiate Greek life.
Sarah Catherine Hook and Zac Burgess star as Caroline Merteuil and Lucien Belmont, respectively, step siblings who strike up a malicious deal for Lucien to seduce the VP’s daughter, Annie Grover (Savannah Lee Smith), who Caroline sees as her ticket to make her sorority untouchable amid backlash for a controversial hazing incident.
The main characters follow closely in the footsteps of the 1999 movie, Selma Blair’s Cecile Caldwell transforming into Sara Silva’s CeCe Carroway. Sean Patrick Thomas also reprises his role from the movie as CeCe’s love interest, but with more of an age difference this time.
For a full breakdown of the “Cruel Intentions” cast and where you might have seen them before, see below.

For the past few weeks, I have been watching stuff that is intentionally and confidently convoluted in an attempt to make it seem like the story is complex, even though it’s clearly not. It’s not like I am voluntarily picking out these projects. They’re all chosen randomly so that they can be covered during the week of their release. And despite the unmethodical nature of the choices, if a pattern shows up, then I think it’s a trend. Joker: Folie à Deux seemed like an ending explainer for the previous movie, but it alternated between what’s real and what’s not in the dumbest fashion imaginable. Teacup was like a wannabe From, which itself was a confounding trip. The Last Night at Tremore Beach was infuriating and baffling. The Man Who Loved UFOs, despite being a biography, was a whole lot of nothing. Then there was Caddo Lake,...

Is Rhobh alum, Lisa Rinna returning to reality television? The actress has been gallivanting around and modeling along with her daughters, Amelia Gray and Delilah Belle Hamlin. Plus, she has taken on some acting roles but is she circling back to the reality world? Keep reading for more details on her next chapter.
Is Lisa Rinna Returning To Reality TV?
From Seasons 5 through 12, Lisa Rinna “owned it” in Rhobh. She was introduced through Og, Kyle Richards and brought a lot of drama and honesty. Rinna never let anyone get away with anything and attempted to hold her co-stars accountable. This did not always work out well for her and ultimately, it led to her demise. The cast was away in Aspen and Rinna left early with Kathy Hilton. Apparently, Kathy was already riled up and on the way home, it all exploded. She allegedly said atrocious things about the whole cast,...

Everyone likes to put themselves in the shoes of horror characters. We tell them, "Don't go in there!" We criticize them for doing stupid things. We gleefully imagine how we'd survive a zombie apocalypse. But what happens when that wishful thinking gets put to the test? Hulu challenged a New York City run club to outrun iconic horror characters, testing out that age-old question: "If you were in a horror movie, could you outrun the villain?" It's all in service of the yearly Huluween festivities on Hulu; check out the video above to see how it worked out.
Participants faced their fears as they raced to the finish line while trying to evade characters like Twisty the Clown from FXs American Horror Story, the Nun from The Nun II, and the Ghost from The Grudge, among others. A twist they didnt see coming?...

Warning: spoilers for various American Horror Stories episodes.
American Horror Stories expands the world of American Horror Story with a different story in each episode, and though they all tell horror stories, some of them have been more impactful and scarier than others. In 2021, Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk expanded the universe of American Horror Story with a spinoff/companion TV series appropriately titled American Horror Stories. Unlike the main series, in which each season covers a different horror theme and storyline, American Horror Stories tells a new story in each episode with a different cast.
American Horror Stories has explored a bit of everything in three seasons, covering urban legends like Bloody Mary and cursed movies, holiday-themed stories with a Christmas episode, creatures like feral cannibals, and even technology going wrong with artificial intelligence and strange surveillance services. Just like happens with American Horror Story, not all episodes of...

Ryan Murphy certainly has his executive-producer hands full — his shows Monsters, 9-1-1, 9-1-1: Lone Star, American Horror Stories, American Sports Story, Doctor Odyssey, and Grotesquerie have all launched new seasons in recent weeks. But where’s the next American Horror Story season? Fall 2024 is only the second AHS-less fall since the FX show’s 2011 premiere. Season 12, dubbed Delicate, ended in April, and there’s no airdate for a 13th season. Scream not, horror fans. Murphy and FX chairman John Landgraf assure fans that Season 13 is coming, and it might involve a big cast reunion. Murphy tells Variety he hasn’t “really landed” on the Season 13 idea yet, though there’s “a couple things in contention.” And, he says, he often thinks of “the original gangster cast,” i.e. Season 1 stars Connie Britton, Dylan McDermott, Evan Peters, Taissa Farmiga, Denis O’Hare, and Jessica Lange. Ryan Murphy insists that he and his “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” co-creator Ian Brennan never imagined the Netflix series would be a major catalyst for renewed interest in the case and calls for the real Erik and Lyle Menendez to be released from prison.
“Ian and I are in absolute amazement and shock that this has happened, to be quite honest,” Murphy told me Thursday afternoon. “When we were writing the ‘Menendez Story’ — we’ve been working on this for two years — nobody was talking about the Menendez brothers. We never thought anybody ever would again.”
The siblings were conviced and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in 1996 for the first-degree murder of their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez, in 1989.

Ryan Murphy can’t stop winning this year. “American Horror Stories” hit No. 1 on Hulu’s Top 15 Today the week of its debut, making it the eighth Murphy show to hit dominate viewership in 2024.
“It’s like having eight children and they all got accepted to college,” Murphy told TheWrap. “I’m like, ‘Ok, well, I did my job.’ It feels good.”
It’s an unprecedented winning streak that started in January with the star-studded “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans” from Murphy, Jaffe Cohen and Michael Zam, a series that was nominated for 10 Emmys and won for Outstanding Period Costumes for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. It was then followed by the second half of “American Horror Story: Delicate” in April, a season that was showrun by Halley Feiffer and led by Emma Roberts and Kim Kardashian. Both jumped to the No. 1 spot on Hulu’s Top 15 list after their premieres.

Henry Winkler had a memorable role in the Adam Sandler-led comedy The Waterboy, but as it turns out, Winkler's participation was not planned. The Happy Days star's appearance as Coach Klein was a last-minute favor for Sandler, who reached out to Winkler after the original actor cast for the role didn't show up for production. Frank Coraci's The Waterboy follows Sandler's Bobby Boucher, an awkward waterboy who discovers he has a hidden talent for football and becomes a member of Coach Klein's team. During an appearance on the Let's Talk Off-Camera with Kelly Ripa podcast, Winkler recounted the story of how he ended up as Coach Klein:
"I did [The] Waterboy. He [Sandler] called me up in the middle of the night. He said, 'Henry, I need a favor. My actor didn't show up. I need you to drive right now to the park. It's in L.A.

The following contains spoilers from American Horror Stories season 4 episode 4, "Leprechaun," now streaming on Hulu
American Horror Stories' "Leprechaun" episode ends on a bittersweet and tragic note. The anthology series delves into different corners of the horror universe, shifting focus from episode to episode. "Leprechaun" brings the show to a small town that seems to be collapsing underneath itself. With little work to be found, four young men unconnected to American Horror Stories' other characters decide they can steal their way to riches. However, their bank heist ends up putting them on the menu for a version of the Leprechaun that's a far cry from the version most people associate with the folklore.
"Leprechauns" instead casts the creatures as an insidious and long-running factor in town, luring people to horrible fates so they can feed on their blood. Although the episode embraces a darkly fun tone for much of the run-time,...

"Leprechaun" keeps the focus on the heist and how quickly it goes sideweays for the self-dubbed Eastie Boys. It's the latest episode of American Horror Stories that punishes the characters' flaws with plenty of gruesome and gory comeuppance. Here are the stars of American Horror Stories' "Leprechaun" episode and where audiences would have seen them before.

Bilal Hasna is transforming into Layla, the title drag queen in Amrou Al-Kadhi’s feature directorial debut.
“3 Body Problem” star Hasna leads “Layla,” which centers on an eponymous British-Palestinian drag queen in London who falls in love with an advertising executive (Louis Greatorex), all while navigating their identity around family and friends. Think a modern-day, queer take on “Romeo & Juliet.”
The British indie film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and later opened the BFI Flare: London Lgbtiq+ Film Festival. “Layla” also screened at the London Film Festival and Newfest.
Director Al-Kadhi previously worked as a drag performer before becoming a filmmaker. Al-Kadhi acted in Steven Spielberg’s “Munich,” “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” “The Souvenir: Part II,” and “American Horror Stories.” They helmed shorts “Anemone,” “Run(a)Way Arab,” “Clash,” and “Define Gender: Victoria Sin” before making their feature debut with “Layla.”

The new episodes of American Horror Stories bring more nightmare-inducing stories, each one with a different cast, and among them is an actor who is breaking a 28-year horror streak after a $173 million classic. The success of American Horror Story led its creators, Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, to expand it with a spin-off/companion series appropriately titled American Horror Stories. Instead of following AHS model of each season covering a different story, American Horror Stories has a different story and cast in every episode, with some of them directly connecting to past seasons of the main series.
American Horror Stories premiered in 2021 and is now in its fourth season, with actors who have previously appeared in the Murphyverse and new faces as well. American Horror Stories season 4 also has actors who are no strangers to the horror genre, but theres one specific case where the actor in question hasnt...

‘American Horror Stories’ delivers five uniquely alarming tales of terror that tackle liminal spaces, clones, Leprechauns, and more.
“You know, we invented hell.”
There was a lot of promise in American Horror Stories — an episodic anthology horror series — when it was first announced as a companion piece to American Horror Story proper. American Horror Stories’ first season was a lackluster effort that oddly felt compelled to needlessly connect its stories to American Horror Story. The second season worked out many of these kinks and, while still imperfect, there are some genuine gems in the mix, like the Twilight Zone-aping “Facelift.” The third season was an even greater improvement that arguably didn’t have any duds in the mix. More importantly, American Horror Stories seemed to finally find the right rhythm and creative team to do this series justice. Additionally, Season 3 eclipsed the modern seasons of American Horror Story and felt...

American Horror Stories is back with a new batch of episodes, each covering a different story and starring different characters, and the second episode, "Clone", stars some well-known actors along with some new faces. Ryan Murphys American Horror Story has found great success since its premiere in 2011, and though some of its seasons havent succeeded with critics and viewers, Murphy decided to expand it in 2021 with a spin-off/companion series. Appropriately titled American Horror Stories, whats different about it is that each episode tells a different story, unlike AHS, in which every season is different.
However, to keep some connection to the main show, some episodes of American Horror Stories have direct links to past seasons of American Horror Story. The success of American Horror Stories has led to its renewal, and among the episodes in its fourth season is "Clone". In it, a tech billionaire who suffers a debilitating...

Spoiler alert: The following article contains spoilers from American Horror Stories season 4, episode 3, "X."American Horror Stories returns with a new set of episodes just in time for Halloween 2024, and one of the installments, "X," revolves around a mysterious (and ghastly) patient at a hospital. Hulu's horror anthology TV show created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk serves as a spinoff to the duo's original (and widely successful) horror series American Horror Story. Every episode depicts a different, terrifying narrative, and American Horror Stories season 4, episode 3, "X," is certainly among the show's creepiest installments, mostly thanks to the aforementioned patient. It also helps that it's the first black-and-white episode in the series.
The exact timeline of American Horror Stories season 4, episode 3, is unknown. However, based on patient records, it likely takes place in the late 1970s.
Mia Isaac stars as Claire Michaels in the cast of American Horror Stories...
