'Aama' is the story of all son and daughters. It has exposed the plight of Nepal's health sector. The thin but strong social perception of childless couples and inter-religious marriages has also been pointed out. The final scene was completely surprise for me just because it's a Nepali film. Although there are some flaws, this is a kind of movie we really want in Nepali film industry.
What worked:
Honestly, I was a bit skeptical about the quality of the movie while watching the trailer. The movie proved me wrong and I was glad it did. What stood out is the very fine performance by veteran actor Mithila, followed by Sarita's praiseworthy performance. I think the movie achieved this shape by their performances. Dipendra is one of the finest directors that we can vouch on not just for his choice of movie but also the screenplay and the dialogues. It's a very well captured movie so cinematographer needs the praise. It stood par the industry. Of course, the movie came with the message but the duality and the characters' complexity is a strong key point in the movie. It's the situations and the settings that presents in front of the characters that shaped their behavior and it's shown in a very moving and captivating manner. So overall the movie worked and worth the praise it is getting
What did not work:
Of course the movie is fictional and is intended with a mission, I found the way the accused is portrayed being a bit gloried and overly glamorized, not just because it's right or wrong also because the non linear approach would make it more humane and natural. I would have cut down the run time by cropping some of the dramatic scenes to crips the narrative.
Final verdict: recommended

Watched 100s of Hollywood and Bollywood movies. Nepali movies were far behind. In the last decades, some movies like Pashupati Prasad, Talakjung vs Tulke, Jatra, and Kabaddi (probably a couple more) were some top of the movies which took Nepali movies to next level. Now, Aama will be remembered as one of the finest movies in the Nepali movie industry. It will make you truly sad, emotionally difficult, and heartbroken, that is what it meant for. Every character had done justice to the role. It should be in Library in Congress in Nepali version. Go and watch it.
Such a great review movie is not available, please try to make it watchable for everyone.
The movie although good to watch lacks in major places. The title itself seems puzzling as it doesn't suit the story. Though its titled "Aama", which means mother in nepali, it focuses on the struggles of daughter. The setting of the movie is also inadequate as it mostly revolves around the hospital walls. At many scenes the dialogues of the characters are inaudible because of the overpowering sound effects of rain and bangle clanking. The acting skills also seems to lack in certain instance.
