The dog, Rocky, is an 80-pound Goldendoodle that has appeared on stage and in films. He was never permitted on furniture--until this film. He was directed to jump on a bed with the main character, Emma, and he immediately found the bed so soft and comfortable that he fell asleep and had to be awakened for the scene to continue.
The Civil-War-era Colonel Riley House, where the scenes with Braxton and Emma were shot, is said to have friendly ghosts in residence. One day, during a lull in setting up a shot, the cast and crew heard singing coming down the grand staircase. As they were the only people in the house, they were certain that they had heard the spirits. Later, it was revealed that Brooke was singing in the back dining room, and the sound traveled up the back staircase and down the main stairs to the foyer.
The original artwork featured in the film was created by several painters: Inez Baird produced Braxton Tate's; Rebecca Davies painted Jules Evans'; and Emma Evans' were painted by Brooke Chamberlin's mother, Jennifer Chamberlin.
Filmed on location in scenic Glendale, Ohio (45246).
