Many had the same questions when a British newspaper reported that Kevin Spacey has checked into the same pricey rehab facility as Harvey Weinstein for sex addiction: Is the facility, called The Meadows, a real treatment center? Or a just a desert oasis for celebrities to weather scandals? People who have stayed at the facility — which can cost up to $37,000 a month — tell TheWrap it’s no joke. Yes, they say, it offers A-list clients amenities like horseback riding, yoga, Tai Chi, acupuncture and meditation. But it also helps change lives. “Pretty much every article written about it makes it seem.

Sometimes, you go to a reunion and realize people you knew way back when haven't changed an iota.
Elizabeth and Philip couldn't even reunite with Claudia on The Americans Season 5 Episode 8 without the very obvious character changes (nature/personality not the portrayal of another) within the small group.
The fifth season subtlety continued.
Gabriel is gone, and in his place is Claudia.
But it's pretty clear Philip and Elizabeth preferred the way Gabriel left things. He noted on his way out that they didn't need him anymore and could take care of themselves. Not only did they take it to heart, they work best off each other's advice anyway.
Claudia: I was read in on everything. You've been doing beautifully.
Philip: We've had our moments.

The only parental figure Elizabeth and Philip have ever known consistently is taking his leave.
If Philip wasn't already pondering his future as a Kgb spy, Gabriel's announcement on The Americans Season 5 Episode 6 will surely have a major impact on his life going forward.
Then again, Philip and Elizabeth both have been trained so well that any impact on their lives takes eons to have any effect at all.
After the start of what should have been a deep and involved discussion over half-eaten MdDonald's on The Americans Season 5 Episode 6, we got little to no follow up on what came of it.
Philip: I'll do my job. I've always done it.

Hulu added a handful of love-related movies and TV shows in February, giving the whole month a Valentine’s Day vibe. And although March doesn’t have such an obvious theme, Hulu seems to think it does. Based on some of the movies coming to the streaming service next month, March’s theme is apparently karate, and that sounds pretty damn cool. Is there an official karate day in March? If not, there should be.
Staring on March 1, Hulu users will be able to stream punching-based movies like The Karate Kid, Legend Of Kung Fu Rabbit (a 2011 animated film), The Karate Kid: Part 2, Ninja Masters, Shaolin, Tai Chi Hero, Tai Chi Zero (a prequel, not a movie about a guy who sucks at Tai Chi), Saving General Yang, Young Detective Dee, The Karate Kid 3, and what is arguably one of the greatest kung-fu movies of all ...

With John Wick co-director David Leicht off directing Deadpool 2, Chad Stahelski returns to take sole control over follow up to the brilliant, Keanu Reeves starring shoot ‘em up. We sat down with the former stuntman to talk about how he creates such beautiful carnage in John Wick Chapter 2, as well as grabbing updates on the future of the John Wick franchise and his upcoming Highlander remake.
Why John Wick 2? Why’ve you made a second one?
There’s all the fiduciary reasons for the studio. For me, on a personal level, we were very fortunate. The first movie did really well. My partner Dave (Leicht), and I got a lot of other offers to do projects and step into other people’s shoes and do other sequels.

For months now, CBS effectively teased it’s new Star Trek show Star Trek: Discovery, revealing only bits of information ahead of the January premier. The studio keeps details tightly under wraps, but we finally have the first cast news from the set.
Michelle Yeoh’s confirmation as the first Malaysian captain of a Star Trek ship came this week. George Takei’s legendary Hikaru Sulu made history as the first Star Trek captain of Asian descent, who’s character eventually took command of his own ship, the Excelsior.
Word about Yeoh’s casting in Star Trek: Discovery first came in an interview with consulting producer Nicholas Meyer.

With Harry Potter and the Cursed Child hitting stages next week, I’ve been reflecting on the Harry Potter world. J. K. Rowling has been giving us little bits of details, like confirming Dumbledore is gay, or that there are 11 wizarding schools in her world, for several years now through Twitter, Pottermore, and other releases.
This is, to an extent, awesome! I started reading Harry Potter probably in 5th or 6th grade, and I devoured those books. I was ecstatic when my grandmother took me to see the first movie in theaters! I was angry when Snape killed Dumbledore. Oops, spoiler alert! However, I feel like after 14 years of books and movies, Harry and company deserve to be left alone.
I am excited to hear that Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them isn’t taking place in London with the Golden Trio. I don’t think we need more...

What drew Game of Thrones actor Finn Jones to the role of Iron Fist? "I’ve always dreamed of a role that bridged spiritual discipline and badass superhero. There’s a contradiction in those elements that’s going to be very fun to play. " Finn goes on to confirm that he'll be training in the martial arts styles of Kung Fu, Wushu and Tai Chi. In an effort to further dive into Danny Rand, Jones is also studying meditation and Buddhism. In contrast, Charlie Cox trained in the fighting styles of boxing, Kali and Wing Chun for his role as the Devil of Hell's Kitchen. Onscreen, Iron Fist's fighting style should look very different from the way Matt Murdock kicks and punches as Daredevil. One superhero trained extensively in the various fighting disciplines of Japan while the other is a student of Chinese martial arts. When they appear together in The Defenders,...

The superb Line Of Duty changes your mind utterly about its characters from week to week. Exhausting, but brilliant...
This review contains spoilers.
Line Of Duty series three is proving as tricky to pin down as AC-12’s interviewees. Three episodes in and do we even know who the lead character is? Danny Waldron first looked set to take the role before that rug was pulled away from under us. Then it seemed as though Rod, Jane and Freddie (I think those are their names?) were our focus. Not so.
Episode three has left us with a much more tantalising prospect: this is ‘Dot’ Cottan’s story, the tale of the Caddy.
Craig Parkinson’s furrowed brow was the star of this week’s instalment. It got a close-up each time the investigation moved a step closer to the truth he’s trying to steer his team...

Meet "Archer P.I."!
FX dropped the season 7 trailer for "Archer," and it's a glorious homage to the opening credits of "Magnum P.I." (and reminds us of Adam Scott's "The Greatest Event in Television History"). Archer zips around in his red sports car, stalks through the jungle, and even wears a Hawaiian shirt! Plus there are are shots of Cyril doing Tai Chi and Pam dressed as a rodeo clown!
"Archer" undergoes another reboot this season, moving into the world of private investigation. That sounds like it might be similar to season 5, aka "Archer: Vice," which parodied '80s crime shows and turned the whole crew into cocaine dealers. Last season returned to the more normal international spy game, but now Archer is going full Selleck and trying out detective work.
"Archer" season 7 premieres Thursday, March 27 on FX.

Devoted fans of Asian action cinema already know Donnie Yen from his many martial arts movies, but for everyone else, his upcoming role in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will serve as a grand, if delayed, introduction. Yen began his entertainment career as a stunt double in 1982, quickly graduating to star status two years later in Drunken Tai Chi. His abilities as a martial artist were abundantly on display in movies like Tiger Cage, In the Line of Duty 4, Once Upon a Time in China 2, Iron Monkey and Wing Chun. He moved to television in the mid-1990s and then nabbed supporting roles in Hollywood; look for him in Highlander: Endgame, Blade II and Shanghai Knights, the latter opposite Jackie Chan. Unlike Chan, however, Yen has never been known for his comic abilities and it...

Netflix has unleashed a beautifully badass trailer for their upcoming film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny. The film sees the return of Michelle Yeoh, and it tells an epic story of "lost love, young love, a legendary sword and one last opportunity at redemption" and will feature "breathtaking action in an epic martial arts battle between good and evil that will decide the fate of the Martial World." It's set 20 years after the events of the first movie and follows four heroes who are trying to protect the Green Destiny sword.
The movie was directed by renowned martial arts choreographer Yuen Wo-Ping, who has worked on films such as The Matrix trilogy, Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2, and Tai Chi Master. Yeoh reprises her role as Yu Shu-Lien in the film and Donnie Yen (Ip Man films) takes on the role of Silent Wolf.
The movie looks pretty freakin' awesome.

Where would The X Factor be without its strange and hilarious auditions? From furious contestants to a sick bag being called for, it's more than just a music competition.

Man of Tai Chi

United States/China, 2013
The world of underground fighting is given the cinematic treatment yet again in Keanu Reeves’ directorial debut, Man of Tai Chi. Set in Beijing, the movie follows the exploits of a kind if slightly misguided young man named Tiger Chen Linhu (Tiger Chen), who works as a postal delivery man by day and practices Tai Chi with his master Yang (Yu Hai) during his time off. Tiger has been seduced by the controversial idea of demonstrating that Tai Chi can be used for pure combat, prompting him to enter a legitimate martial arts tournament. His unexpectedly impressive skills catch the eye of one Donaka Mark (Keanu Reeves), the multimillionaire owner of a security company who also organizes illegal fighting matches for the pleasure of a high paying, exclusive public. If you couldn’t tell from the title of today’s report from Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, the theme of Day Three for me could be boiled down into one word: subtitles. And if it wasn’t for one of the five films I watched today–not counting Cheap Thrills, which has its own, fuller review elsewhere in the section–the theme could’ve been Asian cinema. But alas, it was not to be. Stupid Borgman. (More on that in a bit.) Though there were fewer miracles to be had today, there was a bit of liquor imbibed, specifically a tequila-infused chocolate milkshake, which tastes as delightful as it sounds. Just like Day Two, as I sit to compose this report, I’m amazed that 15 hours ago, I was on my way to the Alamo Drafthouse Lakeline. In spite of staying either inside the theater or directly outside of it for the duration,...

Yuen Woo-Ping has carved a name for himself in the mainstream conciousness as the fight choreographer and martial arts advisor on films such as The Matrix and Kill Bill, however Yuen Woo-Ping is also a world reknown director – helming such classic films as Drunken Master, The Magnificent Butcher, and Tai Chi Master. Ping has finally returned to the directors chair for True Legend (aka The Legend of Beggar Su), his first feature film since 1996’s Iron Monkey 2.

In 1978 he achieved his first directing credit on the seminal Snake in the Eagle's Shadow, starring Jackie Chan, then quickly followed with the similar Drunken Master. The films were smash-hits, launching Jackie Chan as a major film-star. He went on to work with such figures as Sammo Hung in Magnificent Butcher (1979), Yuen Biao in Dreadnaught (1981), Donnie Yen in several films including Iron Monkey (1993), and Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh in several films including Tai Chi Master (1993) and Wing Chun (1994). His work, particularly his action choreography on Fist of Legend (1994), attracted the attention of the Wachowski brothers, who hired him as the kung-fu choreographer on The Matrix (1999). The success of this collaboration, plus his action choreography on the following year's hit Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, made him a highly sought after figure in Hollywood. He went on to work on the Matrix sequels and Kill Bill (2003). It's been 12 years since Yuen Woo-ping,...
