I have enjoyed this show very much. Selena is real and not afraid to show she doesn't know much about cooking. I enjoy her Papa on the show and how quick he is to help her out. However there is 1 person her friend Raquelle who is annoying and very unneeded on the show. She comes off fake and cringey.
For starters, I'm no shill or diehard Selena Gomez fan. She's a decent actress as evinced by her performances in Spring Breakers (the only actor who didn't dial it in for that one) and Woody Allen's A Rainy Day in New York. As for the singing, well, even she apologizes for that. When done right, cooking, too, is a fine artform. I found this show immediately relatable, playful, funny, and highly instructional. The chefs really boil it down to the basics (except for that splenetic French chef that yelled a lot) and share wonderful, fairly easy to follow recipes. Selena comes across as genuine and unspoiled by her success. She's as cute as a squirrel's nut and seems so down to earth. This is refreshing, as so many of her fellow, former Disney mouseketeers appear damaged beyond repair. Her humility is illustrated in each episode as her errors are never edited out and she has that rare, laudable ability to laugh at herself. Plus she donates $10k per episode to the guest chef's charity of choice. It's also cool that she includes her pets, grandparents and friends (both celebrities and civilians) in the episodes. I could go without the obnoxious one called Raquel who resembles a sleestak attached to a smart phone though. Also, if you close your eyes and listen to Selena speak you'd think she was an 80+ year old, chain-smoking grandma. In any event, Selena should be proud of this and her nice blue knives. I gave it a 10 because that's what she is. Cool fact: the series is filmed inside her own home which once belonged to the late, great Tom Petty!
Love this show i actually binged watched it, but i do not understand why is this annoying girl name raquel in the show, she is the only thing i can complain about, she takes away all the enjoyment i have, her voice and attitude and her lack of interest. But the Selena and all the chefs are amazing! I do recommend but PLEASE take Raquel away forever. I considered to stop watching because of this girl. While Selena is trying her best you have this horrible person not caring at all. Nana and papa love them, the chefs so far are the best part of the show and the charity part is so touching. Please listen to the viewers take raquel away that would make this show a 10/10.
Great concept.
Enjoy watching Selena and chefs and her grandparents interact. Real chemistry and caring. Genuine.
I have tried a few of the recipes and enjoyed the new, fresh cooking ideas.
Except - Her friend Raquelle needs to GO - annoying, rude, she shouts when she talks, she can't stay off her phone, and she pokes at Selena for not knowing how to do something.... really? The Season 2 episode with two friends, almost was the end of our watching this series. It was so irritating that we almost turned the show off.
We hope you put the series back to the original concept, Selena and Chef with her grandparents. This works! You have a great show!
Love the charity donations too, brings awareness to charities in need to a larger audience.

I love this show but her friend is the most supremely annoying person i've ever seen on TV. I wish producers would catch on and stop featuring her. She's incredibly obnoxious and tries way too hard to be the center of attention. The show is perfect without her! There have been several episodes when the chefs are clearly annoyed by her, too.
I love how genuine Selena is and down to earth in her interactions with the chefs. It would be an incredible honor to cook with any of those chefs! It really does make you realize that ANYONE can be a cook or chef, you just need the proper tips, tools, and instructions.
