There is a beautiful game here

I'm very torn on this game. As a fan of horror and thriller media, I feel that many people will appreciate what this game brings to them. The visuals are disturbing, unique, and beautiful. The story has some basic horror tropes and jump scares that don't feel earned BUT there are a lot of time this game gave me goosebumps that hurt and played with my head very beautiful. The story is unique and brings a story we haven't seen before.

The split screen is a new concept that is really cool in parts and then very annoying in other parts. The biggest downfall of this game is the camera. The camera has fixed angles to make the game look more cinematic and while it does, there are many times where I died due to camera angles and didn't know where I was able to and not able to go because of the camera. It's frustrating but it didn't make me want to turn off the game. Overall, this is a game you need to try. It's not groundbreaking and has plenty of problems but it is an experience worth diving into.

A work of exceptionally strong imagination, a true art and the evolution of Silent Hill 2

Finally we're getting a "Silent Hill" successor, and what's good about it is the game mechanics literally take it from where "Silent Hill 2" stepped out.

I'll go ahead and say "They've brought Silent Hill to Krakow, Poland". In this regards, "The Medium" is like "Silent Hill 2.10" with the highly advanced camera techniques the latter used, which allows you to enjoy "The Medium" both as a game and a film.

As for the visuals, it's a stunningly breathtaking ghost town. One of those games it's obvious from the start, you're in for a treat.

It boasts Akira Yamaoka's ("Silent Hill" co-creator legend) mesmerisingly haunting score and has "Silent Hill" written all over it.

While not an open world, it sure is one you'll have a lot of fun exploring.

Apart from bringing onboard everything we loved about Silent Hill games, they also took a lot of inspiration from H. P. Lovecraft.

As the plot unfolds, you will be astounded by the top-notch writing and fabulous locations this game has.

Easily one of the best psychological horror games ever made. I'm so happy they finally brought it to PS5.

    An absolute must!

    MIDDLE

Throughout the gameplay, we try to piece together both Marianne's past and the tragic events at Niwa. However, this is where the game's weakest point emerges: the storytelling.

The game starts off with a mysterious and compelling structure, but as it progresses, the resolution of these mysteries falls short of player expectations. Some characters are not developed deeply enough, and their motivations feel lacking. In particular, the origin and purpose of the main antagonist (The Maw) are presented in a rather superficial way. The game's ending, rather than being explanatory, offers an open-ended conclusion - which may be intriguing for some players, but unsatisfying for others.

Some good gameplay but story was boring and classic

I didnt enjoy the Medium. It have some good element of gameplay but the story was clearly boring and it just events that we lived. The story dont have any element of surprise, dont try to trick us or play with us, and didnt have any thing that can engage the audience. I was clearly disappointed with this game. I expected so much more.

    Great game, even better storyline

It's hard to say much without giving too much away, but The Medium is truly a stunning game.

The gameplay was enjoyable, especially if for someone who always liked games like Myst and Riven: the emphasis is definitely on exploring, finding objects to (often psychically) unlock something, solving the occasional puzzle, and unravelling the mystery that led up to that point in the story.

The atmosphere was absolutely amazing. The visuals, the sound effects, the voice acting, the music, the alternating between the real and psychic world (more to it than that, but I can't say more without minor spoilers).

And the plot, massive and complex, and powerful, and satisfying.

    I'm still in awe!
