Dwayne Johnson in Hercules (2014)

FAQ

Hercules

FAQ

No, as it is not produced by any of Marvel's production companies. However, Brett Ratner, who previously directed Marvel's X-Men: The Last Stand, also directed this film.

Although it is based on a comic character... During the beginning of the end credits, it does state the following; Based on Radical Comics' "Hercules" By Steve Moore.

Especially the battle scenes were a thorn in the moviegoers' flesh because of the required PG-13 rating in the US demanded that the giant could not be too violent. The home theater release takes care of that because the Blu-ray released in the US on 11/03/2014 contains a so-called Extended Version. The only question remaining: is it worth it? The answer is simple: YES. The Extended Version is much more violent and it never would have gotten the PG-13 rating.
