This is Tim Curry's first live-action role since What About Dick? (2012) and his first acting role following his stroke in 2012.
During "Damn it, Janet" Brad Majors (Ryan McCartan) and Janet Weiss (Victoria Justice) stop and lean against a headstone for Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley. Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley wrote Frankenstein, a big inspiration for this show. The headstone also shows the correct dates for her life (1797 - 1851), which can be glimpsed as they're approaching the headstone.
The 41 on the banner that reads "41st Transylvanian Convention" in this movie referred to the years between the release of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) and this remake, which is forty-one.
Tim Curry was cast as the original Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the stage production of The Rocky Horror Show in 1973, he continued to play Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the first U.S. stage production in 1975 to 1976, and in The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975).
Adam Lambert was originally offered the role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, but was forced to decline as he was touring with the band Queen, which didn't allow him enough time to shoot all of the required scenes. Instead, he requested the smaller role of Eddie, and also suggested Laverne Cox for the role of Frank-N-Furter, as he believed that it was more appropriate for the role to be played by an actual transgender actress.
