David E. Kelley is a prolific television writer and producer. And as a former attorney, he brings a lot of his own intellect to his projects, which typically involve courtroom dramas and legal thrillers.
Throughout his many years in the business, Kelley has proven himself a bona fide hitmaker with many successful series under his belt, including the acclaimed shows Big Little Lies, Ally McBeal, Boston Legal, and more. The following list highlights some of Kelley's best TV shows and a few that you can definitely skip.
Big Little Lies | HBO Watch: Big Little Lies
I think most people would agree that Big Little Lies is probably the best of David E. Kelley's shows, or at least near the top. This Emmy-winning series is a psychological drama based on Liane Moriarty's book of the same name.

Ben Radcliffe, fresh from his breakout as Capt. John D. Brady in Apple TV+’s Masters of the Air, has boarded Anna Biller’s The Face of Horror, a 14th-century ghost story that begins shooting in Prague later this month. He joins an ensemble led by Jonah Hauer-King, Kristine Froseth, Ellie Bamber, Leo Suter and Bella Heathcote, all confirmed when the Prague Reporter first revealed the medieval project’s Czech schedule.
Biller, celebrated for cult favourite The Love Witch, wrote the screenplay and will produce with Good Chaos founder Mike Goodridge and fellow U.K. indie veteran James Bowsher, while Sirena Film handles Czech production services and Embankment Films partners with WME on sales.
The plot follows knight Edward Carnifex (Hauer-King), whose neglect of his bride Eleanor (Froseth) sparks a spectral vendetta after her death; Bamber portrays Eleanor’s sister, with Suter as Edward’s squire and Radcliffe taking the supporting role of Roger.

Jurassic World Rebirth: Scarlett Johansson Fights To Survive In New Photos From Upcoming Dino Sequel
As part of their summer movie previews, Entertainment Weekly, ScreenRant, and Empire have shared new stills from Jurassic World Rebirth, offering a killer new look at the franchise's newest leading lady Scarlett Johansson, who plays covert operations expert Zora Bennett, doing her best to survive all kinds of dino carnage.
Aside from a handful of brief glimpses, the early images from the film reveal remarkably few dinosaurs—likely because the production is keeping the Distortus rex and any other mutant dinos on the island tightly under wraps, so we'll just have to strap in this Fourth of July for all kinds of mayhem.
With How to Train Your Dragon due out in theaters in June, it seems highly probable that a new trailer for Rebirth will be arriving online sometime before the end of this month as they begin to ramp up the marketing campaign for an epic Jurassic June.

Zero Day is one of Netflix's most popular and talked about shows at the moment, which doesn't come as a surprise given its compelling storyline and amazingly talented cast. I mean, who wouldn't want to watch a show starring big names such as Robert De Niro, Angela Bassett, Jesse Plemons, Lizzy Caplan, Connie Britton, etc.?
The entire first season of the new political thriller dropped on Netflix on Feb. 20, and with just six episodes, it didn't take long for viewers to binge-watch the whole installment. As expected, many rushed to search for details about a potential second season. However, they may not find the news they were hoping for. With Zero Day being billed as a limited series, the chances of it returning with a new season are slim, as its storyline is intended to be a self-contained narrative.
While this is disappointing news, there's no need to fret...

Fremantle is readying to unleash ‘Sandokan’ onto industry insiders during next week’s London TV Screenings.
“It’s simply a great epic adventure, based on a known IP. It’s ‘Poldark’ meets ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’,” enthuses CEO Commercial and International Jens Richter, promising action, adventure and some good old-fashioned pirating.
Starring Can Yaman (“Daydreamer”), Ed Westwick (“Gossip Girl”) and John Hannah (“Spartacus: Blood and Sand”), it’s based on the series of novels by Emilio Salgari and produced by Fremantle’s Italian content powerhouse Lux Vide. Set in the mid-1800s, it heads to a place inhabited by native Dayak tribes yet dominated by British law. Sandokan is used to fighting for his survival, but one thing catches him by surprise: love.
“There’s a portion of romance,” admits Richter. With each episode set in a different environment, “Sandokan” will “fit the needs of the market perfectly,” he adds.

Naomi Scott recently starred in the horror sequel, Smile 2, and this successful outing has been a long time coming for the actress, who made her breakout five whole years ago. Smile 2 is the sequel to the 2022 horror hit, Smile. The franchise centers on a demonic force called The Entity, which plagues its victims with horrifying hallucinations of people smiling creepily. After witnessing the tragic demise of Rose at the end of Smile, Smile 2 focuses on a new protagonist, pop star, Skye Riley. Skye is played by English actress, Scott.
Scott may be somewhat unfamiliar to audiences, but she has actually been in the acting business for quite a while. Scott's first major role was in the 2011 Disney Channel original film, Lemonade Mouth, where she was part of a high school band. After that, Scott collected a number of small TV roles until she appeared in 2017's Power Rangers.

Exclusive: Here are a couple of exclusive images of Inglourious Basterds star Diane Kruger in buzzy Paramount+ series Little Disasters.
Cannes Award-winning actor Kruger plays Jess in the adaptation of the Sarah Vaughan novel. When she takes her baby daughter to hospital with a head injury that she can’t explain, her close friend and on-duty A&e doctor Liz must make the excruciating decision of whether to call social services on her longtime friend. This decision sets in motion a chain of events that show how one moment can fracture and nearly destroy entire families and friendships. The show also stars Jo Joyner, Patrick Baladi (Ted Lasso), Shelley Conn, Emily Taaffe, JJ Feild, Ben Bailey Smith and Stephen Campbell Moore.

Kruger has had far more movie roles than TV but she did play Detective Sonya Cross in FX’s version of The Bridge last decade. The German actor, who broke out in 2004’s epic war film Troy, was described as an “intelligent and dynamic actress, whose sheer presence brings with it a unique quality that leaves you inspired” by Little Disasters director Eva Sigurdardottir.
“Attaching Diane allowed me to explore sides of Jess’ character in deeper ways than I had anticipated,” she added. “Little Disasters is a story of a warm and loving mother who is hiding a dark secret, and Diane navigated that character so elegantly, with relatable and warm performances, as well as truly haunting and thrilling moments.”
That relatability attracted Sigurdardottir to Little Disasters, she told us, along with a “tension and thriller engine rooted in very relatable and familiar domestic settings.”
“I am a filmmaker who is drawn to brutally real and gritty stories, and here we had a glamorous and aspirational setting, yet with a terrifying central conflict – a hurt child,” she added.
Marianna Abbotts is exec producing for Big Boys producer Roughcut TV, which has recently moved into drama. She said she “fell in love with” Vaughan’s novels after reading Anatomy of a Scandal. “Sarah often writes about professional women who are forced to make impossible decisions. At the heart of Little Disasters is a really difficult moral dilemma when one friend is forced to call social services on another,” she added.
To aid with tackling these sensitive topics, the Roughcut team worked closely with Vaughan along with multiple advisors. “We wanted to portray the issues in the book accurately and it was extremely important to get that right,” said Abbotts. “We consulted medical, police and social service advisers who guided us with accuracy and sensitivity while understanding the need to tell a dramatic story.”
Little Disasters is a six-part series for Paramount+ UK and Ireland. Ruth Fowler and Amanda Duke adapted the series for the screen with Roughcut Television EPs Ash Atalla, Alex Smith and Abbotts on board alongside Vaughan. Simon Judd EPs for Fremantle, Sigurdardottir is the director and Myf Hopkins serves as the producer. The series was commissioned by Sebastian Cardwell and Paul Testar and will premiere next year. Fremantle is handling global sales.

The Smile Entity and the horrifying events it unleashes are back in Smile 2, and it brings a whole new cast and a familiar face from the first movie. The horror genre has seen some big surprises in recent years from original movies among a wave of sequels, remakes, adaptations, and reboots. One of 2022s biggest horror surprises was Smile, written and directed by Parker Finn and based on his 2020 short film Laura Hasnt Slept. Smile was a critical and commercial success, making way for a sequel to expand the mysteries of the Smile Entity.
Smiles ending saw Rose succumbing to the curse and passing it to Joel, and though this is addressed in Smile 2, the sequel centers on a new story. Political turmoil and humor can make for great television. From those based on real life, like The Crown, to those with a fictional premise like Anatomy of a Scandal, telling the stories of political figures is a balancing act. These political shows on Netflix can re-contextualize lived realities, and shine new light on stories that were always thought to be true. Shows like Designated Survivor and The West Wing paved the way for a genre of show that at best can inspire, and at worse, can repulse.

Almost every subgenre in television has its master. Political dramas? No one is going to argue it's Aaron Sorkin. Never-ending medical dramas? Oh, that's queen Shonda Rhimes. Agatha Christie murder mystery adaptations? The BBC's Sarah Phelps remains undefeated. For nearly four decades, David E. Kelley has stood tall as the reigning King of legal dramas and thrillers. He's the mind behind seminal legal series such as Ally McBeal, The Practice, and its spin-off Boston Legal. In recent years, he's turned his talents towards miniseries. He's the showrunner behind the colossally successful Big Little Lies, which brought together some of the most powerful actresses in Hollywood in an adaptation of Liane Moriarty's book about trauma, abuse, and murder. He's also adapted Anatomy of a Scandal and The Undoing as miniseries for Netflix and HBO, respectively.

The Jurassic Park / Jurassic World franchise is continuing – and it’s doing so without any of the leads from the previous movies. The new film in the series is aiming for a July 2, 2025 theatrical release, and when it reaches the screen, it will be introducing us to a new batch of characters. Those played by Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Laura Dern are out, as are the ones played by Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. So far, we’ve heard that the new Jurassic World movie is set to star Mahershala Ali (Green Book), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton), Rupert Friend (Anatomy of a Scandal), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer), and a bunch of hungry dinosaurs. Now Deadline reveals that the cast is being rounded out with the addition of Luna Blaise.
Blaise is best known for playing Olive Stone on 62 episodes of the TV series Manifest.

We’ve been waiting a few years to see if and when the Marvel Cinematic Universe Blade reboot that’s set to star Mahershala Ali of Green Book is going to go into production – and while we continue to wait, Ali is in talks to join former MCU star Scarlett Johansson in the new Jurassic World movie that’s in the works at Universal! As The Hollywood Reporter notes, Ali tends to be very selective and usually avoids Hollywood blockbuster-type projects (aside from Blade), so getting him to sign on for a role would be a big “get” for this project.
If Ali’s deal closes, he’ll be sharing the screen with Johansson (Black Widow), Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton), Rupert Friend (Anatomy of a Scandal), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer), and a bunch of hungry dinosaurs. This new Jurassic World movie will have Gareth Edwards directing the film from a...

Hannah Dodd didn’t mean to audition for Bridgerton. Then again, she didn’t mean not to.
It was the spring of 2022 and Dodd was responding to a casting call. She had “no idea” what the project was — the title and character name were kept tightly under wraps — only that she would be playing a Regency-era maiden. And while most auditions require multiple scenes, here she was only asked to perform one: a scene where she would play a guest at a ball. Normally, Dodd would do a ton of...
