Apple TV+ has unveiled a first look at ‘The Savant,’ its gripping eight-episode limited series starring and executive produced by Academy, SAG, Golden Globe, and Critics’ Choice Award winner Jessica Chastain.

The series follows an undercover investigator known as “The Savant” (Chastain) as she infiltrates online hate groups in an effort to stop domestic extremists before they act. The cast of “The Savant” is also led by Nnamdi Asomugha, Cole Doman, Jordana Spiro, Trinity Lee Shirley, Toussaint Francois Battiste, and guest star Pablo Schreiber.

Hailing from Fifth Season, ‘The Savant’ is executive produced by Chastain and Kelly Carmichael for Freckle Films, Emmy Award winner Alan Poul, Emmy Award nominee Melissa James Gibson, and six-time Emmy Award winner and two-time DGA winner Matthew Heineman. David Levine and Garrett Kemble serve as executive producers for Anonymous Content.

Actor Jessica Chastain has made her mark on Hollywood with movies like The Help and Zero Dark Thirty, for which she won a Golden Globe Award. She would go on to earn an Academy Award in 2022 for her performance as Tammy Faye Bakker in The Eyes of Tammy Faye.

Chastain is returning to television for a new Apple TV+ series, entitled The Savant. Now the Apple TV+ Instagram page is giving fans a first look at Chastain in the title role -- and confirming the show's premiere date.

Apple posted two new images from The Savant to Instagram on July 23, 2025, and revealed that the show will premiere on the streamer on Sept. 26, 2025. The Instagram post was accompanied by the caption "The system can’t stop what it doesn’t see coming. Jessica Chastain is The Savant - September 26 on Apple TV+.”

Apple TV+ set a September premiere date for the Jessica Chastain-led limited series “The Savant.” The eight-episode drama will premiere with two episodes on Friday, Sept. 26. The remaining six episodes will release weekly on the service every Friday through Nov. 7.

The streamer also released first-look images for the series, which follows Chastain’s character, known as “The Savant” for her abilities as an undercover investigator. The Savant joins online hate groups in an effort to weed out individuals exhibiting extreme behavior and turn them in before they can commit acts of domestic violence.

Ben Radcliffe, fresh from his breakout as Capt. John D. Brady in Apple TV+’s Masters of the Air, has boarded Anna Biller’s The Face of Horror, a 14th-century ghost story that begins shooting in Prague later this month. He joins an ensemble led by Jonah Hauer-King, Kristine Froseth, Ellie Bamber, Leo Suter and Bella Heathcote, all confirmed when the Prague Reporter first revealed the medieval project’s Czech schedule.

Biller, celebrated for cult favourite The Love Witch, wrote the screenplay and will produce with Good Chaos founder Mike Goodridge and fellow U.K. indie veteran James Bowsher, while Sirena Film handles Czech production services and Embankment Films partners with WME on sales.

The plot follows knight Edward Carnifex (Hauer-King), whose neglect of his bride Eleanor (Froseth) sparks a spectral vendetta after her death; Bamber portrays Eleanor’s sister, with Suter as Edward’s squire and Radcliffe taking the supporting role of Roger.

Rights to Marion’s upcoming book The Overnoise has been snapped up by Nine Perfect Strangers maker Made Up Stories, whose bosses Bruna Papandrea and Steve Hutensky will produce alongside Jeanne Snow and Claudia Park.

Per the synopsis, “The Overnoise follows aspiring musician Robin Conway, who simply wants to complete her new album and maintain her record deal. Fremantle is readying to unleash ‘Sandokan’ onto industry insiders during next week’s London TV Screenings.

“It’s simply a great epic adventure, based on a known IP. It’s ‘Poldark’ meets ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’,” enthuses CEO Commercial and International Jens Richter, promising action, adventure and some good old-fashioned pirating.

Starring Can Yaman (“Daydreamer”), Ed Westwick (“Gossip Girl”) and John Hannah (“Spartacus: Blood and Sand”), it’s based on the series of novels by Emilio Salgari and produced by Fremantle’s Italian content powerhouse Lux Vide. Set in the mid-1800s, it heads to a place inhabited by native Dayak tribes yet dominated by British law. Sandokan is used to fighting for his survival, but one thing catches him by surprise: love.

“There’s a portion of romance,” admits Richter. With each episode set in a different environment, “Sandokan” will “fit the needs of the market perfectly,” he adds.

The film version of John Krasinski’s Jack Ryan is shaping up. It was reported late last year that Sienna Miller will star alongside the former star of The Office in the upcoming film adaptation, which is in development at Amazon MGM Studios. Now, Deadline is reporting that four more actors have joined the Tom Clancy-inspired thriller.

Max Beesley, Douglas Hodge, JJ Feild and Betty Gabriel have all joined Jack Ryan along with Miller. Gabriel is also a former cast member who appeared in the third and fourth seasons of the series. Amazon will be producing in association with Paramount Pictures and Skydance. Additionally, Krasinski and Allyson Seeger are producing via their Sunday Night production, and Andrew Form is also on board this project as a producer.

THR reports that Sienna Miller (Anatomy of a Scandal) will star alongside John Krasinski in the upcoming Jack Ryan movie which is in development at Amazon MGM Studios.

The Jack Ryan series came to a close last year after four action-packed seasons. Although plot details for the movie are being kept under wraps, it will once again feature Krasinski as the titular CIA analyst. Miller will play an MI6 agent who is essentially Ryan’s British counterpart. Wendell Pierce (The Wire) and Michael Kelly (House of Cards) are also set to return as James Greer and Mike November, respectively. Andrew Bernstein, who served as an executive producer and director on Jack Ryan’s second season, will direct the movie from a screenplay by Aaron Rabin, who was a co-executive producer and writer on the final season.

Sienna Miller is set to star opposite John Krasinski in the Jack Ryan feature that is in the works at Amazon MGM Studios.

The project is being described as the next evolutionary step to the adventure series that proved to be a hit for the company and will feature several actors from the show reprising their roles, including Wendell Pierce (The Wire) and Michael Kelly (House of Cards).

Jack Ryan season two executive producer and director Andrew Bernstein will helm the film, which has a script penned by Aaron Rabin, who served as a co-executive producer and writer on season four.

The show was based on the characters and so-called “Ryanverse,” created by author Tom Clancy, but took place in modern times. It ran for four seasons on Prime Video, where it is ranked among the streamer’s top three most-watched series globally.

Cannes Award-winning actor Kruger plays Jess in the adaptation of the Sarah Vaughan novel. When she takes her baby daughter to hospital with a head injury that she can’t explain, her close friend and on-duty A&e doctor Liz must make the excruciating decision of whether to call social services on her longtime friend. This decision sets in motion a chain of events that show how one moment can fracture and nearly destroy entire families and friendships. The show also stars Jo Joyner, Patrick Baladi (Ted Lasso), Shelley Conn, Emily Taaffe, JJ Feild, Ben Bailey Smith and Stephen Campbell Moore.

Kruger has had far more movie roles than TV but she did play Detective Sonya Cross in FX’s version of The Bridge last decade. The German actor, who broke out in 2004’s epic war film Troy, was described as an “intelligent and dynamic actress, whose sheer presence brings with it a unique quality that leaves you inspired” by Little Disasters director Eva Sigurdardottir.

“Attaching Diane allowed me to explore sides of Jess’ character in deeper ways than I had anticipated,” she added. “Little Disasters is a story of a warm and loving mother who is hiding a dark secret, and Diane navigated that character so elegantly, with relatable and warm performances, as well as truly haunting and thrilling moments.”

That relatability attracted Sigurdardottir to Little Disasters, she told us, along with a “tension and thriller engine rooted in very relatable and familiar domestic settings.”

“I am a filmmaker who is drawn to brutally real and gritty stories, and here we had a glamorous and aspirational setting, yet with a terrifying central conflict – a hurt child,” she added.

Marianna Abbotts is exec producing for Big Boys producer Roughcut TV, which has recently moved into drama. She said she “fell in love with” Vaughan’s novels after reading Anatomy of a Scandal. “Sarah often writes about professional women who are forced to make impossible decisions. At the heart of Little Disasters is a really difficult moral dilemma when one friend is forced to call social services on another,” she added.

To aid with tackling these sensitive topics, the Roughcut team worked closely with Vaughan along with multiple advisors. “We wanted to portray the issues in the book accurately and it was extremely important to get that right,” said Abbotts. “We consulted medical, police and social service advisers who guided us with accuracy and sensitivity while understanding the need to tell a dramatic story.”

Little Disasters is a six-part series for Paramount+ UK and Ireland. Ruth Fowler and Amanda Duke adapted the series for the screen with Roughcut Television EPs Ash Atalla, Alex Smith and Abbotts on board alongside Vaughan. A fourth Bridget Jones film is on the way, and some returning faces as well as new famous ones have joined the latest installment in the rom-com franchise.

Renée Zellweger, who first brought the titular character to life in Bridget Jones’s Diary (2001) will return to reprise her role in the film. The news of the fourth film first arrived in April 2024, and a cast has been rounded out. Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy is the working title for the upcoming film.

Rene Zellweger is attached to star in a new television series. The actress is set to lead Max's upcoming James Patterson adaptation of his novel 12 Months to Live.

Per Variety, the two-time Academy Award-winning actress has found a new television series in James Patterson's adaptation. Zellweger, who won the Oscars for 2019's Judy and 2003's Cold Mountain, has also been nominated twice for 2002's Chicago and 2001's Bridget Jones's Diary. While she is mostly known for her roles in feature films, Zellweger made her series regular television debut with the Netflix series What/If, and also starred in the true crime limited series The Thing About Pam.

It didn’t take long for Universal to move forward with a follow-up despite the arc for those characters coming to an end. Production has just taken off and the new Jurassic World movie will be filming in Thailand through July 16th, with locations including Bangkok, Trang, Phang Nga, Phuket, Chiang Mai and the Huai To Waterfall, which is within the Khao Phanom Bencha National Park in Krabi province. Beef creator Lee Sung Jin, The Bear co-showrunner Joanna Calo and Big Little Lies producer Bruna Papandrea will feature at the event, which will be held in Melbourne on July 15-17. The summit is the latest globally-focused TV event on the crowded international calendar.

More speakers are set to be announced shortly, with the event streaming live around the world. Future Vision has been created with support from Australians in Film, Screen Australia and VicScreen, with Papandrea and The Slap showrunner Tony Ayres the co-chairs and Rebecca Yeldham, who led the content team at MasterClass, the Creative Director.
