The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

Edit
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is a historical fictional novel by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows that was published in 2008. The novel is set in 1946 and is composed of letters written from one character to another.
During the credits, viewers listen in on a meeting of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. The works referenced are: To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf (Amelia Maugery (Dame Penelope Wilton)), Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson (Eben Ramsey (Sir Tom Courtenay) and Eli Ramsey (Kit Connor)), William Shakespeare's The Tempest (Dawsey Adams (Michiel Huisman) and Juliet Ashton (Lily James)), Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë (Isola Pribby (Katherine Parkinson)), Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest (Sidney Stark (Matthew Goode)), and "The End" by A.A. Milne (Kit (Florence Keen)).
When Juliet Ashton (Lily James) first meets the Society, and when they meet again the next time, Amelia Maugery (Dame Penelope Wilton) is wearing a brooch which says "Elizabeth" on her cardigan.
Exteriors for Guernsey Island were filmed at The Charterhouse in London, which was also a location used in Downton Abbey (2010).
In the scene where Juliet Ashton (Lily James) finds the pressed flowers in her notebook, the name "Remy Giraud" can be seen in the notebook. This is a reference to a character in the novel on which this movie was based. In the novel, Remy was a friend of Elizabeth McKenna's, and a possible love interest for Dawsey Adams.
