Three Wise Men: Parallel Lives

I really enjoyed this film. The acting, the story, the scenery, the history and the achievements for the greater good of the planet, Mauritius and mankind. Congratulations to everyone involved.

Directed by Sada Rajiah and Desire Prevost, "Three Wise Men - Parallel Lives" is a recently released no-budget production presenting a true series of events. The narrator of the film, Deane Thomas conveys the story about the three wise men and how their creations have helped people to live better in a genius way by linking it with his own life story. Deane Thomas also the original creator and one of the writers of this film, he also played his character in the film. Just like Deane Thomas, all of the characters who were alive played their own roles. The majority of the rest of the cast were direct descendants of the Major and Tomislav Tesla himself. For instance, Vivikenanda The great Indian guru was played the major's grandson. This factor adds an emotional value to the film. The film covers the evolution of electricity and the selfless contributions of these men for it. The first man is Nikola Tesla. The film takes us through the life journey of Tesla, from where he started to how he accomplished his dreams, including the vision of harnessing the Niagara Fall with a hydropower station. His inventions were the base of telephony and wireless systems that we can not live without today.

The second man is Major Ibrahim Atchia. Major's father that arrived in Mauritius immigrated to Mauritius with his uncle in 1861 from Gujrat, India; the Major was born in Mauritius in 1868. He invented the prefabricated concrete which was a revolutionary contribution. One of Major's biggest accomplishments was The Reduit Hydro Power Station. At that time as the narrator says, it was a mammoth task as there was no machinery available. Along with his brothers and hard work, they made this nearly impossible task into a reality, which became operational in 1901.

The third man is Deane Thomas, the narrator himself. Deane shares his journey from Bristol, his hometown to Mauritius where he is working today. Throughout the film, he tells us all the important personal and professional events that led him to work on his dreams. One of the most admirable qualities of Deane is that he is not afraid to take risks whether it's moving to look for the next opportunity even after getting the captain's ticket or moving to Moscow without his family. He follows his intuition, and according to him, that is what took him where he is today. On the proposal of Tomislav Tesla, the great-grandnephew of Nikola Tesla, Deane is now in Mauritius working on the plans to generate electricity that are environmentally friendly. The storytelling and the timeline created in this film is exceptional. The film discusses the lives of Nikola Tesla and Major Ibrahim Atchia at the parts of life that are greatly influenced by both personalities accordingly. The life and achievements of Tesla are discussed when Tomislav Tesla comes to Deane with the proposal, and the part about Major Ibrahim Atchia comes when he moves to Mauritius where he also interviews Major's family. The key message that I got from the film is that the small things you do can be a base of something impactful in the future. With this thing in mind, Tesla and Major selflessly worked which has affected the lives of billions of people, and now Deane Thomas is the one with the passion and dreams of doing the same. We can say that his goal is the same as the goal of Tesla and Major in their era. Both worked on the evolution of electrical energy back then, and Deane is working with the same vision today. As far as the technical aspects of the film are concerned, you cannot deny the amazing direction and storytelling of this film. It will not be fair to critic the acting, as professional actors did not play the characters. Considering the fact that it is a no-budget film, it's simply extraordinary.

Three Wise Men - Parallel Lives, is based in 2020 at the peak of the energy crisis with the constant debate of energy (renewable and fossil fuels). One man named Deane Thomas is ambitious and full of hope and he takes a journey, which is what the film is essentially about. The audience follows him on his journey and experiences.

The audience sees the parallel lives of three men born across history. Starring one of the most famous scientists of all time - Nikola Tesla, who was born and raised in the Austrian empire and climbed to fame for his inventions and never gave up. Also, "Major" Ibrahim Atchia, who started experiments in a small stream behind his family home in the 19th century and went on to create the Reduit Hydro Power.

Major Atchia transformed Mauritius like Tesla in the USA. He brought electricity to a place that had never experienced it before. Deane Thomas together with Tomislav Tesla create plans for Mauritius. This film shows the undoubtable parallels between the lives.

One of the many great elements of this film was the beautiful filming. All of the shots were amazing! Visually it was a stunning film with smooth and elegant editing, which added to the mood of the film. Furthermore, the acting was amazing! All of the actors are very talented and evidently dived into the role with passion.

The writing of the film is another great element. It is filled with inspirational words from all the characters that captivates the essence of energy issues, characters, and plot.

Overall, I highly recommend everyone to watch this short film! You can catched it on Vimeo (either to rent or purchase). It had no production budget yet was still outstanding in every way!
