This is as real as it gets!! This movie explains how once someone is released from prion and how they their first decisions right as they walk out the door.. I would tell anyone please watch and share. This movie is very informative and I loved every minute of it.

First documentary about prison but definitely not the last after watching this. The story of each individual people were captured in the best interviews, and very touching. It teaches people who came out from the jails on how to behave in this development society and also us to see them from who they really are.

I saw this as part of the London Film Week and was moved to tears. This documentary does a great job of showing the mix of emotions ex-prisoners go through immediately on release. With no help, except that from volunteers, they face an uncertain future as they board a bus which takes them into their future. It is a fascinating look into a part of society most of us don't know exists. Highly recommended!

12th Street explores a tiny slice of the criminal justice system: the walk to the Greyhound bus station that many former incarcerated people make when they conclude a prison sentence. Although a small in scope, there is true emotional depth shown by the former imprisoned people, the people who volunteer to help them, the families and friends that wait for them (or not). You can't walk away without feeling empathy for the men who face an Odyssey of a few city blocks (will their families be there to greet them? Will they go to the bus station or will they get lost? How on earth do you reshape your life after five, ten, or twenty years in prison?) Highly reccomended.

Excellent documentary, very well done! This gives short insights from the newly released felons, their families and the volunteers waiting to offer encouragement towards a successful transition.
