Packed with events and life lessons

The language of this movie is universal. To undarstand it you do not need to know Persian or read subtitles, though it will increase your appreciation.

I am married to the first girl in my life for 32 years and we are still in love. Here are some of the events and lessons I saw.

    1. The effect of family quarrels on children

    2. Poverty in a corrupt system that leads children to beg in streets.

    3. Empathy towards the young boy followed by giving him little snack but regularly.

    4. Empathy towards the family in discord, followed by actions.

    5. Acting like a child to communicate with a child.

    6. The emotional and mental harmony between the old couple.

    7. Spontaneous decision-making for a good cause.

    8. Changing the address of the flower from customary and ornamental task into a vital and functional tool.

    9. City traffic. Average human life of 68 years.

    about love

An old couple, verses of Hafez, the tension between a young couple, flowers and figues and the atmosphere of honey and cinnamon. The first temptation is to define it as a beautiful film. Or to feel it as fake, too didacticist, naive, poetic, artificial, a sentimental project, too pink to not be made for easy public/festivals succes. But, obvious, it is more. You feel the soul of a world in each scene. So, more than a good film, a seductive confession. Maybe, real useful. About marriage, off course, about love and happiness, no doubts. But, more important, about the fair way to discover, as part of yourself, the other.

    Beautifully film on multiple levels

There is so much in this very short film. Very nice and touching on multiple levels. Well acted and well produced. Very beautiful.

    Incredible layers of subtlety

I've watched this appealing, and complex, short Iranian film a number of times. It speaks to me at so many levels. I find a lot in this rich story. (very Good subtitles too) The story functions as an allegory for me too, how we perform cultural rituals to get by, and how sometimes the purpose of being somewhere, is just to be kind.
