I like the show but the head judge Aarti Sequeira is turning me off. I having been watching this show after I DVR it because I like to fast forward when she talks. She is very judgemental and never really sees these contestants ideas. It seems its her way or no way. If she doesn't like something she is rude about it and is always knocking the contestants down. Kristen as host is adorable, cute and perfect to host. I would suggest getting a 3rd judge for the second season or get rid of Sequeira or make someone else the head judge. Could be a great show, the set is amazing and who doesnt love Candyland. Sequeira needs to go to black licorice island.
As others have said, the judges do detract from the show quite a bit. The negativity from the judges, especially Aarti, made me cringe throughout. Miss Sequeira has a bit of an ego that seems mismatched for the magical, fairytale setting of Candyland
It would have been better to me if they kept all the teams, not kick teams off each week, and made it more like the board game. It would have been neat to have the teams moving game pieces depending on how the did on the treat heat and main heat as a race to the end.
The judges really take away from the show too! They never say anything positive. They aren't open minded. They act like everyone should cater to them. If they don't think like they do than they're wrong. Instead of judging how they did they want everything their way! The judges have brought the show down to a lower level.

This literally feels like another cake wars type show, which Food Network already has an abundance of, they just slapped a Candy Land skin on it to make it more appealing. If you're unfamiliar with the concept, it's teams competing to create food based works of art (usually with a food sampler along the way to demonstrate that they actually can bake). It gets dull fast. High end cake decorating hit it's peak over ten years ago, and perhaps some people are still taken aback by edible (but actually largely inedible) art cakes, it does nothing for me, I'd much rather see people cook or make real food. Also whatever deal they made with Hasbro for the Candy Land license has them awkwardly talking about their Candy Land memories (much of which feels forced/artificial and made up on the spot). Many of the contestants have been taken from other Food Network shows, that's not uncommon, but I wish they would recruit fresh talent. I especially wish they'd stop allowing Reva on, she's such a nasty person, she's always screaming at her teammates no matter what show she's on. She's terribly egotistical, and her talents do not match her ego. I once saw her on a gingerbread show where she totally sabotaged her team leader. Nobody likes this woman, children should not be subjected to her rude and selfish antics! Give her the boot.
The judges ruin this show. Concept and host do wonders. The judges are a mess and super negative. Just a mess. Recast and try again.
