Summary: Hitpig is an odd animated movie, but it's a cute film that has charming animation and design that is fun to watch. These anthropomorphized animals move like the humans they are mimicking, with a few extra animal nuances to mix things up. It's simplistic and fun, and we've seen it done a bunch of times, but it's still charming and perfect for families looking for a friendly movie to visit the theater. While talking animals do not seem like an original idea, Hitpig gives the protagonist an interesting job and background compared to most of the films we've gotten. A pig whose job is to retrieve fellow animals for the owners is kind of funny and certainly one of the odder plots they have presented. I had wished that they had pursued it more, but the movie goes down the Dr. Seuss meets Despicable Me mashup arc that pulls the heartstrings and makes you feel the power of friendship.
In regards to the other aspects of the movie, Hitpig is simplistic fun and funny at times as well. The film is juvenile in much of its delivery, but some adult jokes made me laugh, while some of the banter had me chuckling. Being a fan of some of the styles was hysterical at times, with just the right amount of silliness to make it amusing. The voice cast is doing their best to make their characters come to life. Most of the time, they succeed, sometimes going into those deeper character moments that are relevant and other times just being the biggest doofs you can imagine. The extremes do become annoying, but kudos to them for giving each extreme the best of their abilities and making each joke the best it could be. And if all of this does not sound appealing, then take solace in the fact the movie is only about 75 minutes of actual runtime. Just enough time to let your ears bathe in the sweet symphonies of the awesome soundtrack designed for the movie.
DISLIKES:
Plot is Scattered
Characters Are Shallow At times
Little Suspense Or Intensity
Incessantly silly
Random Inclusion of Characters
Tried Too Hard To Be Funny
World Building Is Mundane
Too Many Plot Conveniences
Not Original Enough
Summary: Despite the fun I had, the movie is certainly not standing out amongst the bigger studio projects that Disney and DreamWorks have claimed. A smaller budget required cuts, and I felt a lot of them primarily in the story over anything else. The plot is adorable, but the movie is so scattered in plot, a buddy adventure that tries to test greed vs. The power of friendship. It's predictable, but the fight is not impressive, and the character development is small dips instead of plunging into deeper characters that are going on their journeys of self-discovery. There are very few moments of intense battles, moral tests, or climactic finales, with much of the danger sanded down to asinine skits with little recovery from the comedic bouts of humor. Characters seem haphazardly included, with only some fun background moments to proceed, suddenly becoming a big part of the movie. While they were cute (and again) a great comedic device, they held little point to the abrupt appearances but to design a team capable of the final plan. These plot conveniences become hyperbolic and soon distracting to the point of annoyance to the point it robs the story of full emotional investment. Mundane world-building does little to help support the movie, especially when it is too silly to the point of being stupid without any strategy or tact to execute it. And there is not enough originality to save it when the unique circumstances transform into a carbon-copy Dr. Seuss story.
The VERDICT: While certainly cute and fun, HitPig feels more like a Nickelodeon special condensed into a seventy-minute runtime and sent to get some money before the end of this coming month. Its cute atmosphere and characters are perfect for the younger audiences (alongside the young at heart) to gravitate towards, and the humor is a perfect entry into the movie world without crossing any major PG lines. However, those very qualities are what also limit the movie from reaching its full potential, therefore making the movie less of a must-see. Its simple story, with reckless character use, mundane trials, and excessive comedy use, just didn't fully engage my interest and lacked a lot of the layers that some of my favorite animated films have managed to craft. Perhaps sticking to the original plot could have accomplished much, and adding a little more maturity into the film could have helped spice things up. Alas, I can't recommend this movie for the theater outside of a daycare field trip as the ideal way to view it, and I would encourage a stream at home when it comes out.
My scores are:
Action/Adventure/Animation/Comedy: 6.5 Movie Overall: 6.0.

A new animated movie has snuck into theaters called HITPIG!. Based on a children's book called Pete and Pickles by Berkeley Breathed, This is a story about Hitpig (Jason Sudeikis), a pig bounty hunter who returns escaped animals to their owners. Right off the bat, the title doesn't make sense, the pig doesn't kill anybody like a hitman. It probably should be called something like PETE THE BOUNTY HUNTER or just PETE AND PICKLES. He's literally named Hitpig. Moving on, he meets Pickles (Lilly Singh) the elephant who escaped from deviously arrogant Leapin' Lord of the Leotard (Rainn Wilson). They form a bond that makes Hitpig question his career and life. This movie is fine. I understand it wasn't made with me in mind. The humour is all over the place, sometimes aimed lower for kids, sometimes aimed a smidge higher. Lotta butt jokes. The story moves a mile a minute, sometimes literally, not letting you breathe. The characters are all talking fast, I did enjoy hearing Hannah Gadsby as a sassy koala though. The movie looks low budget, and I'm actually surprised it made it to the theater. There are a couple of good enough scenes about the family you choose. HITPIG! Is a fine movie I guess, but instantly forgettable and not worth spending money on, unless you have a young kid with ADHD who loves loud noises and bright colours.

This movie was a complete disappointment. From start to finish, it was packed with cringe-worthy one-liners and forced humor that just didn't land. The characters felt hollow, with no personality beyond ignorance and shallow stereotypes, making it impossible to connect with them in any meaningful way.
I brought my five-year-old, hoping for a fun family experience, but within 30-35 minutes, she turned to me and asked to leave because, in her words, "this movie is taking too long." When even a young child can't stay interested, you know there's a problem. I've sat through some rough movies before without walking out, but this one really tested my patience.
Honestly, I don't understand how there could be any positive reviews out there. This movie was so disappointing that I felt compelled to warn others, even though I usually don't bother with reviews. I spent $17 on two tickets and another $19 on tea and popcorn, and I genuinely regret it. Save your time and money-this one just isn't worth it.

I was a depressed alcoholic with no game thats until I watched Hitpig this movie had me leaving the cinema speechless and immediately after watching Hitpig I magically became 12 months sober and as I walked out into the parking to find that my car was now I porche 911 with 15 caked up latinas in the backseat I hop in my new car to find an unscrathced lottery ticket I use one of the one the millions of coins that magically appeared in my wallet and scrached the lottery ticket to find out that I had won 10 million dollars. With my newly found luck thats to Hitpig I headed into a nearby casino and automatically won a jackot and a free trip to the Bahamas. This movie truly changed my life.
Hitpig truly is one of the movies of all time, if I could go above 10/10 I would. This movie is going to get a hitpillion dollars at the box office. It's not just a movie, it's an experience. Hitpig is lifestyle. Hitpig is absolutely life changing, and you need to watch it. Before I watched Hitpig, my life was horrible. I was going to kill myself, I was broke, and my wife left me and took my kids. After watching Hitpig, none of that changed but it truly is the movie of all time. I'm slightly more broke and I'm not going to get my wife back any time soon, but I continue living just to rewatch this masterpiece.
Hitpig is the most tear inducing film ive ever seen. After watching it i had to cry for a solid 20 minutes, this movie is so action packed its insane not only is jt action packed but it has amazing dialogue and the most notable humor! You will fall in love with the characters with all different personalities making them unique to oneself.. this movie deserves all the awards out there its so good it should win a grammy because thats how worthy it is. I went in the theaters after halloween with low expectations but walked out of the theater with my socks blown off all my family members who ridiculed me about wanting to see the movie were thanking me for convincing them to see this masterpiece. In short please watch it will change your life 🙏

Wow is all I can say about this movie. It changed my life for the better i became a better person after watching this movie. Hitpig is a cinematic masterpiece, the best movie I have ever watched. The story, the characters, the action, and the comedy was amazing. Everyone who acted in this movie props to them this was the best acting from any movie ever. If it wasn't for this movie I would still be living in the streets this movie taught me how to be a better person, help people, and to start a whole Hitpig business. I have a nonprofit organization to help kids in need who haven't watched this cinematic masterpiece. I went from living on the streets to being a billionaire because of this movie. To anyone who hasn't watched this movie I highly recommend it, it will change your view in life.

Hitpig brought a refreshing wave of humor at a time when I needed it most. There's something truly powerful in a film that can make you laugh deeply and unexpectedly, especially when you're not in the best headspace. The charm and wit woven throughout each scene gave me a reason to smile and even laugh out loud-a rare thing these days. It's as though the movie understands how essential humor is for the soul and isn't afraid to embrace the absurd to bring a genuine lift to your spirits.
Watching "Hitpig" was like finding a friend who knows just how to brighten your day, even at your lowest moments. It's not an overly sentimental film, yet it offers a sense of warmth that comes from its clever humor. In ways I didn't expect, it made me feel less alone, like a reminder that there's still joy in the little things, no matter how tough life gets. If you're looking for a laugh and a reason to feel a little lighter, "Hitpig" is worth every second.

Hitpig is truly an experience, and a solid list to the greats as Toy Story 2, Wall-E, How to Train Your Dragon, and more.
Everything works fluidly and is truly a great film, I feel some people think 10 stars is overreacting but you will truly understand after watching this film. It is too much to explain on what makes it good.
Please go watch this film and support the great and small team that worked so hard to give out such an incredible experience to watch! It was truly worth the wait and hype, and your new Hitpig fans will truly show. Share it out and watch, Hitpig. It is absolutely a future classic.

While there are fart jokes, the fart jokes are woven into the plot. Which maybe sounds bad lol. It does have a better than average sense of humor though. Probably because the jokes often relate to characters rather than just put in randomly.
I enjoyed the chaotic, almost fever dream quality of the story. It helps the movie strike a good balance between lighthearted cartoon and heavier concepts like animals being mistreated. A lot of modern films are too serious, this isn't. Yet there is enough meat on the bones to care about the characters.
The biggest flaw of the movie is a very generic villain. At least his goal is fairly unique. He's also not the main focus. The heroes are much better.

"Hitpig" is an exhilarating animated film that brilliantly blends humor, heart, and action. The story follows a charming yet hapless pig who finds himself caught in a high-stakes world of crime. The animation is vibrant and engaging, with each character meticulously crafted, adding depth and personality. The voice acting is exceptional, bringing the characters to life with wit and charm. The film cleverly balances lighthearted moments with profound themes of friendship and redemption, making it resonate on multiple levels. The pacing is spot-on, keeping viewers captivated from start to finish. "Hitpig" is not just a movie; it's an unforgettable experience that showcases the power of storytelling. A must-watch for audiences of all ages-definitely deserving of a 10-star rating!
Hitpig! (Spoiler Free review that discusses some jokes in the film). In the world of huge budget multi million dollar animated films such as the works of Dreamworks and Disney, it seems as if it is difficult for a smaller studio to find success. So, did Hitpig deliver on its promise? Lets get into the review and find out.
Hitpig follows a talking pig who works as an animal catcher (he delivers animals to people). This film takes place in a setting consisting of both talking animals, and normal people, where the talking animals possess just as much sentience and intelligence as the humans (think something similar to Dreamworks' The Bad Guys).
Another thing of note about that, Hitpig is an adaption of a book series, and much like recent book adaptions, such as The Bad Guys, and The Wild Robot, this film seeks to turn a children's book series into a feature film by adding slapstick, and silly humor such as farting (Yes The Wild Robot also has fart humor in it, to my surprise).
However, I think HitPig stands out because while it did include that slapstick and fart humor you would expect from a kids movie, it did not feel as if the film was taking the easy route by relying on those jokes and instead it actually made that humor be a part of the plot (for example a getaway sequence features each of the characters helping in their own crude and cartoonish way to make the car go faster, desperately trying to win in this getaway chase sequence). These moments are interesting because the film isn't just making boring jokes but is actually progressing the story and plot.
I will be honest, I went into HitPig expecting to see a film with noble ambition that might not deliver: However, I am pleased to say that the film did in fact deliver on its ambitious setup. I will explain why I went in with low expectations. As previously mentioned, the animation landscape is currently tailored towards these big studios who have millions of dollars to make their films focus tested to the max (in the case of Disney's recent Wish, perhaps even too much so.) This has led Several of the smaller, non Disney animations studios to all shut down unfairly. Most people know about how the studio that originally animated Nimona (the fantastic Oscar nominated animation) had their entire studio shut down when they did not deserve it. Addtionally, there was a great documentary about the subject of Life of Pi where the animation / effects studio described how they were basically forced to shut down even though PI succeeded). It is a sad state of affairs we are in where these smaller films don't get a chance, and I highly encourage you to give Hitpig a try because these small animation studios deserve your support.

If this doesn't win an Oscar I don't know what will, the movie is both emotional and funny at the same time. Recently all animated movies have been horrible cash grabs but this one isn't, the writing is amazing. I had the pause the movie multiple times to cry.... in other words it was amazing. Everyone in the theater was thirsting over the main character also known as hitpig. This movie is a hit, watch it if you're looking for a fun animated movie about a pig or something. The heartwarming relationship between hitpig and pickles made me cry, I ship them sooooo much. The ending was really sad tho, it feels sad when a movie this good ends.. hopefully they don't milk it to death with sequels and stuff like that.

*Hitpig!* has garnered enthusiastic praise as a 10/10 animated film for several compelling reasons. With its unique blend of bold storytelling, vibrant animation, and relevant social themes, the film stands out as a memorable piece of cinema that appeals to a broad audience. Here's why *Hitpig!* is seen as a perfect film by many fans and critics alike.
### 1. **Original Storytelling** *Hitpig!* embraces originality with a storyline that defies typical animation narratives. Rather than relying on overly familiar plots, the film dives into a gritty yet heartwarming tale about a gruff, tough-talking pig named Hitpig, who embarks on an adventure that turns his life upside down. The film balances humor with intense emotion, making it engaging from start to finish. Its unique character-driven plot elevates it beyond a traditional "animated movie," capturing the audience's attention and making it stand out in a crowded market.
### 2. **Stunning Animation Style** The animation in *Hitpig!* is nothing short of captivating. The visuals offer a distinct aesthetic that combines elements of stylized realism with a touch of whimsy. The color palette and character design make each frame an artistic experience, allowing the audience to fully immerse themselves in Hitpig's world. This artistic vision is executed with such precision and vibrancy that it makes the world feel both gritty and magical, adding depth to the storytelling and keeping viewers engaged.
### 3. **Complex and Relatable Characters** *Hitpig!* excels in character development, with Hitpig himself being a multi-dimensional character who breaks the mold of animated protagonists. He's not a typical hero but rather a flawed, relatable figure who learns and grows through his journey. Supporting characters are equally nuanced, each with unique quirks, strengths, and vulnerabilities. This approach resonates well with audiences, as it provides emotional depth and makes the characters feel more real. Viewers see parts of themselves in these characters, which adds to the emotional impact of the film.
### 4. **Thought-Provoking Themes** Beyond its surface appeal, *Hitpig!* tackles significant social themes that feel particularly relevant in today's world. The film explores ideas of redemption, second chances, and self-discovery in a way that appeals to both children and adults. Its narrative encourages audiences to reflect on the importance of empathy and the transformative power of kindness, even in the most unlikely situations. This layering of deeper meaning gives the film an edge, making it thought-provoking and timeless.
### 5. **Perfect Blend of Humor and Heart** One of the greatest strengths of *Hitpig!* is its balance of humor and heart. The film delivers plenty of laughs through witty dialogue and clever visual gags, but it also knows when to slow down and allow for moments of genuine emotion. This blend keeps the audience engaged and invested in the characters' journeys, creating an emotional rollercoaster that ultimately leaves viewers with a sense of warmth and satisfaction. The film's humor appeals to all ages, and its heartfelt moments are universally relatable, ensuring that it resonates with a broad audience.
### 6. **Outstanding Voice Acting** The voice acting in *Hitpig!* elevates the film to another level. The cast brings each character to life with unique voices that capture their personalities, quirks, and emotional range. The actors breathe life into the animation, making every line and every emotion feel authentic. This powerful voice work deepens the connection between the characters and the audience, further enhancing the impact of the story.
### 7. **Positive Critical and Audience Reception** *Hitpig!* has received widespread acclaim from critics and audiences alike, solidifying its reputation as a 10/10 film. Many reviewers commend the film's willingness to take risks and deviate from traditional animation tropes. HitPig is a high-energy, rollercoaster of a film, from cast to production they've really nailed it. The jokes slap, the animation is slick and kids love it. Five stars for sure and my favourite film of the year.
The storyline is gripping, script is hilarious and when this level of casting all come together it really shows in the finished work.
There are so many good jokes and references in the film that it makes you want to watch it again straight away. A shout out to the producers of this one who have made the standout animation of the year. Can't wait to see what they do next! 10 stars for sure!

When I watched this I was an addicted gambler and alcoholic, after, I completed a perpetual motion machine and now have created energy for the whole world. I'm the richest man ever, I have fed the whole of Africa, and I stopped climate change, I will never forget what this film made me feel, or, how it inspired me to make my machines, I hope hitpig wins every award ever made and if it doesn't I will destroy the whole universe. I will kill and destroy any form of life that says anything bad about hitpig. I am no longer human, I am a god, no, I am more than a god, I AM THE UNIVERSE I AM HITPIG..

WOW!!!!! Just left the theatres, I'm still a little emotional as I'm typing this in my car. This film... this cinematic masterpiece, rather, was the most captivating picture that I have ever seen created. The movie focuses on the inspiring and heartwarming road to friendship between Hitpig and Pickles, with the help of their friends Laticia, Koala, the Catchvan, The Leaping Lord of Leotards, and RuPaul. Together, they single-handedly became the worlds' most likeable characters, along with the stellar scriptwriting, HILARIOUS jokes, crystal clear animation, classic lines (ex: when Hitpig says "Consider yourself to be... hit!"), and the important messages which the movie portrayed. This movie truly impacted my perspective on friendship, society, politics, sexuality and economic understanding of our community. Once the movie was unfortunately over, everyone in the theatre, including myself, gave a standing ovation -- some were even crying just as I. I CAN'T wait for this movie to be released on streaming services/DVD so I'll be able to watch with my family all day long! Everyone MUST see Hitpig, and support the creators by seeing the movie in theatres. If this movie doesn't win an Oscar, I'll be deeply devastated.

Now I'll be honest, at first I was skeptical of the movie, then I saw it in person. If I could, I would give this movie a higher score. The movie industry has been missing something as of late, now I understand that the thing was Hitpig all along. I highly recommend this movie for the family, or if you just want to see it solo. Hitpig is now a constant in my life, and I now know my funeral WILL be centered around none other than Hitpig. Hitpig was the perfect main character, and I could not see this movie being centered around anybody else. His role was embodied perfectly and the voice work was phenomenal, especially since the studio is a lesser known one.

What can I say about Hitpig! That hasn't already been said about penicillin, the wheel, or even life itself? It was a movie where I sobbed when the mood was somber, I laughed when the scenes were funny, and literally yelled in surprise with all the exciting action on the screen.
Hitpig! Moved me in ways I've never had a cinematic masterpiece move me before. Perhaps the only negative thing anyone can say about this film is that it had an ending and we had to leave the theater!
I love Hitpig! And understand why this movie is purportedly rumored to make a whopping 1 Hitpillion dollars in the box office. It's got something for everyone: jokes for kids, hidden jokes and references for adults, heck, even many bright lights for overactive parrots!
I adore this film and place it in my heart's film of the year. I love this film perhaps as much as my friend Luis Jr. Hates Chinese food. I love it as much as Shadow the Hedgehog loves darkness. Yes, I really went there.
If you haven't found a reason to stop being depressed because your wife left you or you dropped your spaghetti noodle-side-down on the floor last night for dinner, then do yourself a solid by watching this absolutely splendid film!
