Sparks fly as a romance novelist works with the local blacksmith to save a charming pioneer village before Christmas. But when her secret crush arrives, she takes a page from her novels to figure out her true "Happily Ever After."

When romance novelist Diana (Jeni Ross) learns that Maple Creek, a charming pioneer village, is struggling to stay afloat, she uses her notoriety to help generate interest in the town by sponsoring a Christmas gala. The event allows visitors to experience Christmas the way the pioneers did. Diana rallies her family and friends to pitch in, but she's challenged at every turn by the village blacksmith and town historian Carter (Jake Epstein). Sparks fly as the two must work together to save the village in time for Christmas. But when Diana's secret crush, Greg (Oliver Renaud) surprises her at Maple Creek the night before the big Christmas gala, she's conflicted by her feelings and must take a page out of her novels to figure out her true "Happily Ever After."

History professor Carter and 19th century frontier settlements specialist helps for free running Maple Creek, a fairly authentic pioneer village Maple Creek in Wisconsin, which founder Timothy's widow Kayla tries to manage, as counselor, blacksmith and general handyman, yet it's no longer self-supporting. Kayla's niece Diana, a romantic novelist, situated her popular series right there in the pioneer age, and is nudged by her San Francisco editor to counter rider's block and further PR by spending Christmas time there. Studly cover model Greg, her romantic interest, won a Caribbean modeling contest, and surprise-arrives for the Christmas gala. Despite grumpy clashes with Carter, who duly criticizes Diana's historical inaccuracies worse then the village's compromises, Cupid matches them, as he's an avid reader, but offered a great job in another state.—KGF Vissers
