    Meaningful comedy

Loved Goodbye, Petrushka! It's a comedy but there are also some scenes that bring tears to your eyes. It's a comedy but underneath the jokes are some deep emotions and you really don't want the story to end. The cast was so good!

    A Wonderful Indie Film

This is a wonderful and funny indie film about taking chances in life to become who you are meant to be. The film's cast were both great and quite amusing in their own quirky which really brought the film alive.

    Oddball Romance (of sorts)

"Goodbye, Petrushka" is a heartwarming film that is a bit difficult to describe. I'm tempted to label it as "Chekhovian." An awkward yet loveable puppeteer develops a crush on a figure skater past his prime. The skater has a rather stern girlfriend, and the puppeteer has a young admirer that she's not quite prepared to deal with. What ensues is neither comedy nor tragedy, but a sensitive and endearing study in human nature, sort of a coming-of-age film for late bloomers. It's not a film for the hard of heart. For all others, it's highly recommended.

Funny, engaging, well-acted coming of age film.....

This charming and very entertaining film follows the often painful path of pursuing a dream without letting it lead you astray. Claire, a young film student (the depictions of which with lunatic professor and socially misguided classmates are some of the funniest scenes in the film) drops out of school to travel to Paris pursue her passion for French culture, art, and love. Along the way she learns to adjust her sites as she bumps up against the pettiness, small-mindedness, and disillusion of others. The experience is often painful, but depicted honestly and with warm humor. Nicola Rose pulls compelling, nuanced performances from a talented young cast. She's a writer/director to definitely keep an eye on.

    Sweet, silly and profound!

Such a sweet movie, both silly and profound. You are rooting for the main characters and yet not necessarily in the same way you do with a traditional romantic comedy. Loved it and would highly recommend!
