Sins of the Father

Once again Dexter fails to stick the landing. This was such a good show until it delivered this deeply unsatisfying conclusion. I would advise new viewers of New Blood to watch the first 9 episodes and imagine an ending without watching the finale. It would be better than this.

I wondered why the bad ratings because until the first 36 minutes, it was all good. Then came one bad scene that made this worse than GoT finale. I actually hated the final episode of Dexter where he goes into the sea. But I hoped this would be better. I was rooting for this. Why such pathetic writing? What is with writers and final episodes? Every other episode was so brilliant.

The finale was like that person who breaks up with you, calls you back 10 years later, just after you are over with him/her, just so that he/she can break up with you again in a worse way.

Writers obviously have no clue what they are doing. Could be the worst writing ever especially since if they had any clue at all (just think a little bit - see all fans comments) and could have been best show Ever!!

One thing I guess they got right- it broke the internet; how terrible of a final episode it was; worse than previous one that Clyde ridiculed. Clyde is so "full of himself"!

I find it ironic that the writers claimed this would be a shocking ending, when this possible ending with who did what, was discussed as the ultimate cliche cop out. Fans of the show on reddit insisted that the predicted scenario would not be correct since it would be too lowbrow. Well we got that lazy ending.

And here we have it, the lazy writers choice. Dexter makes a series of way out of character mistakes. The moral ambiguity is all gone. Instead we get a pedestrian "lesson" on toxic fatherhood. All dads in this show are bad.

Also we can forgive a minor plot hole, but this also has two major plot holes that are in effect gigantic red herrings as well.
