I don't know how they keep getting these Wattpad movies so wrong. There was barely any chemistry between the characters and the storyline just seemed so forced. I was almost done with the movie when I realised that nothing had really happened. I thought Blake was meant to be some bad boy lifeguard but he was nothing of the sort, and everything just seemed too cliche. I just don't get it, they ruined the After series by changing storylines and hiring bad actors/directors and now they've done the same here. Truthfully, it was quite boring. Nothing really hooked me and there was just no excitement. I know it's all down to personal opinion but this movie was just not it.
This romcom sounded like it would be interesting as I do like both of the actors and the setting in a small town seemed enchanting for a good romcom but I've not read the book.
However, the chemistry between the two leads is terrible and Al ost non existent so it's hard to imagine that they would have any interest in each other so the romance part just doesn't work which is just bad casting on the Directors or Producers part.
The acting is fine by both leads and it has nothing to do with anything but lack of chemistry. As on one hand you have a very pretty petite Asian girl that looks like she's 15 years old in a bathing suit, and a lifeguard that looks like he's twice her age and twice her height - Which is bad casting so maybe they could've cast it differently with either a younger main male lead or a slightly more mature older female lead but regardless these two had zero chemistry.
And the story is pretty basic with no real surprises which rarely matters in a good romcon provided the 2 leads have chemistry so the film did not work and felt like a bad Hallmark film.

Romantic comedy-Drama '' Float '' is a romance with an underlying family drama to boot.
First of all, the story is too generic. Sure, there are some parts that are fairly enjoyable, however, there were a lot of others that just ruined the film.
The pace, for example, is all over the place, with the romance suffering the most. It robs it from the tension between the leads and leaves a lot off screen when it came to their relationship. That was evident in the ending, as the movie tried to create drama only to wrap things up awkwardly.
Also, there were a lot of plotlines that were left unexplored and suprficial, like the family drama of both leads.
Other than that, the performances were good enough from everyone.

If you like sweet and romantic getaway stories that take place in tiny close knit communities with enigmatic and quirky characters this movie will be right up your alley.
Waverly is in a predicament where she is trying to navigate both who she is, who her family wants her to be, and who she is meant to become. It leads her to make some rash decisions and go spend some time with a relative she hasn't seen for a while, but who offers her an instant warm welcome to her tiny little world and the people that make up her daily life.
It's all about to learning to breathe through her trials that pushes the story but the introduction of unexpected romance only makes it that much sweeter when she meets her aunt's neighbors.

This movie was okay. I only watched it because of some of the actors in it.
It's your typical Summertime romance movie, but nstead of it being teenage kids, it was mid 30s actors playing characters 10 years younger. It's funny because the book is about a teenage romance.
I was a fan of Andrea Bang from Kim's Convenience, but it seemed like she brought her character Janet over to this movie. Hopefully she's not being typecasted into playing characters that are a bit awkward and always being told what to do by her Asian parents. The name Waverly just didn't seem right for her either, because it's more of a British name.
Robbie Amell was really showing his age in this. He seemed so much younger just a few years ago in things like The Flash and The Duff, but I guess that was nearly 10 years ago now. His performance was okay.
This is a typical TV movie or straight to video movie. Only worth watching if you liked the book or are a fan of the actors in it.
