Here you have a TV mini series which has a lot of potential. The acting is adequate and the local dialect makes it even more likable.
For four and a half hours you get nice and non demanding entertainment and a good portion of wit.
And then, within the last two minutes, the whole story turns dark and sad and absolutely nothing of the carefully built up plot is resolved. It is such a slap in the face that you end up regretting having spent the time. Therefore the six to seven stars I would have awarded the series up to the end has to be downgraded to two stars.
Now I understand that the end was supposed to be a cliffhanger for the second season, but on the one hand that wouldn't have made it better, since I don't see any chance for this giant mess to be resolved in a second season and on the other hand it serves as a prime example for how cliffhangers can ruin tons of work, if the continuation is not secured.
Simply frustrating.
