    Summary

Reviewers say 'We Need to Do Something' offers a claustrophobic, tense atmosphere with a family trapped in a bathroom, exploring familial dysfunction and supernatural themes. Praised for its unique premise and strong performances, it also faces criticism for an unsatisfying ending, unresolved plot points, and uneven pacing. Despite mixed reactions, the film's visual style and atmosphere are highlighted, creating a divisive yet intriguing experience.

    Missed Opportunity

It's good and unique but also flawed. It has a dark crazy atmosphere with some disgusting and disturbing scenes. Story at first seems intriguing but then gets stupid. The mom's performance is bad. All in all, it's a fun original indie horror but it's full of nonsense.

    What the...what???

I know that everyone is use to seeing the "what the hell did I just watch" review, but seriously.... WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST WATCH? I am fairly certain that I have never left a review with those words, but for this movie it is definitely warranted! I have never complained about spending $6.99 to watch a movie, but I would have rather spent the money on ANYTHING else. $7 worth of dirt, sure why not?!? Honestly, I would have rather sat in my own bathroom watching paint dry for 96 minutes!

I don't want to leave any spoilers for those of you who decide to watch this film, but I suggest watching anything else. There is really nothing good I can say about it other than I'm glad it's over. You can't even blame Covid for this mess!

    Wasted potential

Had the potential to be really creepy (like the good boy scene), but sucky ending and cheap effects..

    heh

It's 4 family members stuck in bathroom... that's 98% of this film. The other 2% are flashbacks.

It was boring, unexciting and, well, largely predictable after the first 15 minutes or so.

Acting, cinematography, direction, effects, etc. All seemed relatively good, hence the 5 stars. But the story was just tired - essentially fear of the thing you never actually see. I'd rather watch something more than 4 family members in a bathroom.

    Cryptic trash

I like Pat Healy. He always does a great job going crazy, as he does here. Unfortunately, this is the only thing this movie has going for it. I found it grotesque to the point of being nearly unwatchable. Puke is not entertaining. The what's and why's are never explained. Cryptic trash and lazy writing. The story and script are a joke. I would skip this one.

    • Trivia
According to the screenwriter Max Booth III, he has a cameo in the film as a human toilet - painted and crouched - and Pat Healy sits upon him for a second in the form. If you blink, you will miss it.
    • Quotes

Robert: Wait a minute should we have eaten it?

      Melissa: Gross, no!

Bobby: *in a singsong chant* Snakes with extra cheese! Cheese with extra snakes!

Diane: I don't know how to eat a snake, do you?

Robert: Yeah, you just pick it up and bite the head off like Ozzie.

      Diane: Wasn't that a bat?

Robert: Snakes are just bats that can't fly!
