I don't always love independent films, especially lower budget ones, but I have to say that I really enjoyed this one. It's definitely not a big budget blockbuster, but there are so many hilarious characters and situations that I couldn't stop watching. The quirky characters were very funny and easy to connect to, so even though the story was a little slow at times, I wanted to see how their heist came together. If you are looking for an explosive action movie, this isn't it. That being said, my favorite movie of all time is Napoleon Dynamite, and I think if you like that movie, you will enjoy this one too.
I'm a big fan of creative dialog, and that's what I liked most about this indie movie. It was definitely a low budget film, but there were a lot of interesting characters, and they had good chemistry overall. Another thing I liked was all the little details and references that the characters throw out, so I had to keep rewinding it at points so I wouldn't miss anything. If you're into nerd-type characters and the world they live in, this movie is pretty authentic and fun.
I didn't know anything about this movie before I watched it. The poster caught my eye so I decided to check it out. I didn't recognize any of the actors so I could tell it was a lower budget movie, but I started getting into it right away. Even though none of the actors are famous, they do a really good job of making the story interesting. It's not action packed, but you get to know the characters really well and they're easy to get attached to and they're mostly very funny. One of them reminds me of Mr. Bean. I started looking up the actors and some of them are in other movies, so I will try to check them out too if I can. Definitely a fun movie in my opinion.
I can't even count how many wacky characters are in this movie. That's the best part for me. Also, it's not your typical cookie-cutter story. There is an overall story, but it's more like a bunch of Saturday Night Live skits linked together. Or maybe more like Clerks, but without the profanity--if you can picture that. There's a lot of funny situations and great dialog between the characters. That's what I find missing from a lot of the movies I see these days, so I appreciated it. I also appreciated that there's nothing violent or raunchy, so my kids were able to watch it with me the second time I watched it. (There were a lot of little details I missed the first time around so I had an encore.) My kids even thought it was pretty funny. All in all I say it's worth watching if you like offbeat comedies with great dialog between the characters.
Stumbled across this and saw the good IMDB rating. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the expectation at all. There were some smiles here and there, but nothing that made me laugh out loud, I'm afraid. Was really hoping for a hidden gem, even starting with a Clerks-like opening.
In the end, it was disappointing as it never made the jump from what felt like student-project quality to a proper indie film, that is across lighting, sound, all the way to the acting.
Kudos for pulling this off none-the-less. Making a feature-length film is a huge project after all.
