A good movie is a movie that would made you get carried away by the feelings of the protagonists. This movie is that kind of movie. You would laughed with Chen Chen and Zheng Yu Xing, you would made silly jokes with them and you would also cried with them.

The characters development was excellent, the setting was believable and the story was relatable. This is how coming of age movies should be made. And this is the best coming of age movies from Mainland China that I saw until now. You won't regret see this movie.

Definitely 9/10.

Not just another 'crush meets heartbreak' romance drama but also nice coming-of-age story. Unfortunately Leste Chen had to compromise his LGBT vision for Chinese market. Zhang & Wu made endearing chemistry together to deal with their own lies and truths.

It can be said for sure that it is the most favorite of Chen Zhengdao's works. Compared with the first half of the love song, I prefer the calm and fresh love song, and it has buried many interesting foreshadows for the back. However, the latter half of the paragraph was a little difficult to hold up from the beginning of the electric syllable, because the two teenagers bear too much pain and worry. It is only through such a way of running away and meeting again to achieve reconciliation with themselves. It is difficult to release enough emotional power. The director still pays too much attention to form and superficial in handling, which was also revealed in the previous secret visitor. This should not be a love film, but a very standard growth film, and the final destination is a little biased. But choosing Wu Lei and Zhang Zifeng is a particularly wise choice. Their performance can not only be described as wonderful, but also can be called relaxed and happy, which is very valuable among the young actors at present. Not surprisingly, it will be the favorite Chinese youth film this year. As for the hidden line everyone is discussing, it's better to feel sorry for our creators than whether it's good or not.

Upcoming summer is a very sweet coming of age film that was marketed as a teen romance film in China and thus let many moviegoers down. This is definitely not a romance (nor could it ever be one) but the story of two young adults trying to be braver and better. And by the end, they manage to do exactly that, even if they have to suffer to get there.

Special congratulations to the two leads, they are both full of youth, full of wonder, a breath of fresh air; for 90 minutes they reminded me of how glorious it is to be that age and have your whole life in front of you. So watch this film but remember: no romance!

After watching 'Everything Everything' I was so relieved cause I could see some 'grown-ups' out there understands young people and have really tried to say "Hey, I've been there before and it's really ok not to be ok sometimes" through their stories... not pretending to have been perfect. It feels so refreshing get such feelings again after watching 'Upcoming'
