    Ummmm...... Pardon?

Excuse me, but what the hell did I just watch? Is it just me or was this some kid's high school English project gone horribly wrong? If you know the story of "Hamlet," you MAY know where the story is going to go. I say MAY because half of the time your head will be buried in your palms as you say to yourself "no, this cannot be real. Who in the name of all that is holy would make this?" I'm no Shakespeare buff, but i'm pretty sure that this adaptation isn't very faithful to the source material. If you are a fan of the bard, you will either explode with a fiery rage of anger at this film or, if you can just relax and realize it's just a stupid, stupid movie, you may laugh along. But seriously, the whole time I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. In a weird way, this movie has a certain magic to it. Every second I sat there, consumed by the movie and completely entranced by what I saw on screen. Granted, I was entranced because I couldn't believe what I was watching, but that still counts for something I guess. The movie held my attention, even though it could possibly be one of the worst excuses for an actual film that I have ever seen. If you are a fan of bad movies, this one is for you. If you are an English teacher or a fan of the Bard: just relax, the people on screen have no idea what they're doing. They really can't possibly do any serious damage to Shakespeare's masterpiece On the whole, I actually recommend this movie. It's seriously worth checking out. I'm not kidding. Someone notify the guys at Rifftrax ASAP. The world must see this beautiful monstrosity.
