Good performances by the leads. The ending could've gotten better treatment. [+54%]

"Bruised male ego" cinematic universe gets one more entry in this partially entertaining film with a half-baked climax. The reason the film works to a large extent is its central performances - a cast-against-type Shine Tom Chacko and a perpetually perplexed Ahaana Krishna. Playing a newly married couple, they exhibit the right amount of spontaneous chemistry, making their (budding) relationship enjoyable to watch. Ahaana's character gets a meaty part to play in the proceedings, and she does fairly well, in what comes off as a subversion of this particular screenplay template.

When the film's core conflict presents itself, it feels like an extension of writer Ratheesh Ravi's previous work Ishq. The developments, while initially interesting, progressively get weaker in the second half leading up to an unrealistic (and kinda meh) finale. This also has to do with Dhruvan's one-note baddie act, even when his character gets some texturing in the script. Also, more than in Ishq, the absence of the police in this story bothered me.

An engaging relatable drama which deserves your time

A movie that made no sound among film buffs or even in theatres when it released, and I am astounded as to why this happened.

It tells the story of a man who gets beaten up by local goons on the day of his marriage. Whether he takes revenge or forgives them, accepting his destiny, forms the rest of the narrative.

Shine Tom Chacko is brilliant in the lead role, portraying a regular man who just wants to feel loved and respected by his wife. Ahaana Krishna has also nailed her character. She captures the vibe of being newly wed and the transition to a stronger persona with spot-on nuances. Dhruvan, in a negative role, excels, making you feel like hitting him-a mark of a good actor. The rest of the cast does their part well too.

Director Prasobh Vijayan deserves applause for creating a world that is both highly relatable and entertaining. The chemistry between the leads as a newly wed couple comes across beautifully. The writing is excellent, showcasing the protagonist's urge to gain respect from his wife, balance his duties as a husband, and struggle with the decision to seek revenge. Everything falls into place, working effectively thanks to the good screenplay.

The songs are not lip-synced, hence they do not disrupt the movie's flow. The everyday life of common people in Kerala is captured well through the lens, making the world realistic for viewers and making you feel like peeking out of your window.

It is a beautiful movie that shouldn't be missed. Sometimes we overlook good things, and many of us have done that with this film. Take your chance-you won't be disappointed.

Negative 2 stars for Ahaana's acting

Climax is really unexpected and satisfying. The performances of Shine and the antagonists were really good. That said , Ahaana's performance was as expected (terrible). Only downside of the movie is Ahaana's acting. There are a lot of actors in Malayalam industry who could have done Ahaana's role far better. May be the budget of the movie was really low. Even a new face would have done better. Hats off to the editor who tried his best to mask Ahaana's bad acting by using clips of Shine's expression while Ahaana's was overacting.

    In summary

    1. Adi is a good movie .One time watch recommended.

    2. Ahana should stop acting for the sake of malluwood.

    Low quality 'Maheshinte Prathikaaram' 144p

The starting was intriguing and violent. I expected something like the epic 'Maheshinte Prathikaaram'.

But there was nothing, literally nothing, no revenge moments. I was waiting for any badass fights until the climax, like the good guy beats the hell out of bad guys, but I was disappointed to the core, Nothing !!! No goosebump moments nothing.

The movie just a funny kind of drama portrays a guy who marries a girl and some unfortunate event happens during the day of there marriage. And the guy obviously get distracted and tries to fix everything.

Both Shine Tom Chacko and Ahaana Krishna did justice to there roles. They did what they were suppose to do. But the flow of the storyline and the script not properly digestible.

Still the movie is not that bad, just an one time watch. For those who want to kill sometime and watch a simple movie without any expectations.

    Let Bygones be Bygones...!!! Forever...

A simple plot well executed with its commendable detailing by director Prasobh vijayan is a notable work among the valid contenders of the year by mollywood...

It never fails to explores the dark secrets or biased gender issues...Ahaana krishna is a show stealer for her boldness, presence of mind and her care towards the fellowman that every man aspires to be... While Tom shine chacko does a metallic performance and his face expression elevates the situation to carry past screenplay at a study pace... Dulquer salman needs a token of appreciation, while the writer Ratheesh ravi Keeps u invested throughout the flick... Camera by faiz siddque gives u vibrant colors in terms of color tone... A good plot to rejoice ur weekend dose of entertainment...
